Radio1 didn't give La Roux much play outside of their specialist shows and Zane Lowe. She received good airplay on Radio 2 and 6, more eclectic/alternative stations.

The lead singer is in her 20's and they didn't play her latest stuff so her excuse is they must have thought the material was ****.

Changed it. I initially thought she might've meant that Madonna's age wasn't the reason they weren't playing her but it reads more like she's dragging Radio 1/herself

Her music was fantastic this time (even better than before) and more grown-up and cohesive. At least age is a decent / less offensive factor for why a station doesn't want to play their music.

Radio still has such a monopoly. Trouble in Paradise was my favourite album of 2014 and it deserved much more recognition.
