Actually, they are both around the same age with Carol being a bit older. However I don't want Caryl to happen. I don't want Carol to have to have a man to survive and everyone who has gotten close to Daryl (except Rick and Carol) has died to provide man pain and a storyline for Daryl. I'm sure if they went the Caryl route it would only be to provide Daryl with a new storyline and end up getting Carol killed.

The bite causes them to get a fever and die from that, then because they're dead, they turn.

I saw that too and they don't need his bigass turning into a walker.
