My mom has great taste and isn't stuck in any one era. We share a lot of the same faves and sometimes I get her into other ones.
My dad's taste is really hit or miss. He got me into Jack Johnson long long ago (<3), Sublime, and some of my other faves. But he also LOVES Dave Matthews Band, which is the work of the devil in my eyes.
To be honest, it's hard to share older people's musical interests, since they always act like their generation's music is infinitely better than everyone else's, when the truth is that music is music.
My mom's favorite artist is Prince, so me and my sister got that from her I guess. And my dad loves Robyn, even went to see her in concert (without telling me ). So I'd say yes.
My mom exclusively listens to the 4 CD that I left in her car after I purchased the deluxe. She stans "Best Thing I Never Had" and "I Was Here". I'll get her a copy of self-titled soon.
Some of my dad's, yes. He's a sucker for 80s and 90s classics, which he played all the time. He's a huge fan of Mecano and Yanni. Their music has become very influential and dear to me.
