Gaga's eras have never lasted that long because she's always been the kind of artist who sells most of their albums at the beginning. Katy and her team are really good at spreading her eras apart so she sells little by little for a long time.

The whole "longevity" argument is literally pointless when at the end you're still not selling more than other people. It's like how "Teenage Dream" has been on the charts for 30 years and still hasn't come close to outselling "The Fame".

Bigger albums
Bigger tours
Bigger general public appeal outside gay audiences
And is constantly getting better with her live shows

Gaga and Katy debuted at the same year, and therefor have been through the same market evolutions and changes, which invalidates the longevity argument.

She has yet to TIE Gaga in touring, album sales, acclaim and have a single bigger than PF WW, that you guys are already talking about surpassing...

Of course not. Longevity >> selling a huge amount of record in a short period and fading fast.

Let's say PEPSI sells 10M bottles per year for 5 years.

Let's say Coca Colla sells 30M bottles for 4 months and then next year they sell 20M bottles, then in 2 years they selll 30M more bottles in a few months.
