I think his win was based more so on the success of one song from the album (Happy) as opposed to what the album has done as a whole...considering Bey's album sold more and was more critically acclaimed than his, she probably should of won over him

How did yall expect her to win album of the year when she lost this category before the show aired? The album of the year winners ALWAYS WIN the sub categories of their respective genres. Beck won best rock album, so the fact that pharrell beat out beyonce he had a better chance of winning album of the year than beyonce did. They never split like that, how can they award one album from a category which has two album of the year nominees and then turn around and award the other album for the bigger category? It doesn't work like that, they thought phar9album was better get over it.

The R&B categories are so puzzling. Beyonce dominates the performance & songwriting categories, but her last two albums have been complete snubs. I thought Self-Titled was a LOCK for Urban Contemporary Album. And I'm still in shock that 4 wasn't even nominated for Best R&B Album, which Chris Brown would go on to win that year. Absolutely puzzling result that was.
