Madonna’s butt-baring Givenchy matador number on the Grammys red carpet may have landed her on many a worst-dressed list — but count Andy Cohen as a fan.
“I loved it,” he said Tuesday night at the Woman’s Day Red Dress Awards at Jazz at Lincoln Center. “Here’s the thing, the red carpets today are so boring because everyone has a stylist, and they just listen to their stylist and they do whatever they say. I like that Madonna puts on a show every time she comes out . . . when I’m 56, if my ass looks like that, I’ll wear fishnets and a matador outfit and show my ass.”
Cohen found the Madge Twitter backlash particularly obnoxious“I thought the response to her was really ageist,” he said. “Why should you deny Madonna the right to be Madonna? This is who she is. This is what she does.
“I was tweeting about her, and I got a lot of tweets from women who were saying, ‘She’s too old, she can’t do this, she looks ridiculous,’ ” added Cohen. “I tweeted a couple back and I said, ‘Look, I’m looking at your avatar, and with all due respect, honey, you have a situation happening yourself.’ I don’t know why I’m on such a soap box about it, but I think it’s interesting. She’s Madonna. Let her keep being Madonna. Don’t take that away.”

Madonna is so insufferable. For someone that was once the Queen of Reinvention, she is so out of touch with reality and good music (it's okay if she wants to do her own thing and not follow trends, but she just isn't making good music).

She's not even controversial in a good way, she's controversial in the, "I'm trying to be my kid's best friend" type of way.

I agree and disagree. This whole keeping up with the times thing and her music is a PERSONA. The real Madonna in her daily life isnt into showing her ass or pouring beer into her shoe.

I agree. Just because she's older and dressing 'sexy!' doesn't mean that I instantly have to think it looks good or that that's what everyone her age should be doing. I honestly just think it's annoying. She's obviously just doing it for attention, which other pop stars get bashed over. But suddenly because it's Madonna she gets a pass due to the 'it's Queen Madonna!' thing? No.

Like, I don't really care what she dresses like at all but I'm more annoyed that her fans demand everyone treat her like some sort of genius for doing what other women get trashed for (dress for attention, dress super sexy, etc.)

There's a difference between making people pressed or people just thinking you're cringy and embarassing yourself, I dont think people are pressed.

I don't get this. She's DOING what she loves, and she's enjoying her life more than if she were sitting at home gardening. People are different. Madonna has always been different. Let her do what she does; she's not hurting anyone, she's having fun, and she has a lot of people who support her. Why would she stop? Why would she want to stop when she can flash her ass to thousands and cause a frenzy? This is like a trip to the RSL* for her.

* Dunno what the American equivalent is.

But there's the difference, at that time she was making people pressed because she was pushing bondaries and breaking the norm, she had a message she wanted to portray and people got mad, now she's just being sad because there's no substance in these atitudes besides calling for attention but i dont judge her, it's Madonna, I just think she's tarnishing a legacy that could be immaculate
