Philadelphia has been selected to host the 2016 Democratic National Convention, DNC chair Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz announced this morning.

The city beat out Columbus, Ohio, and Brooklyn, for the event, which will take place the week of July 25, 2016.

"In addition to their commitment to a seamless and safe convention, Philadelphia's deep rooted place in American history provides a perfect setting for this special gathering," Wasserman Schultz said in a statement.

The DNC evaluated cities on factors that included transportation, security, finances, logistics and hotel capacity.

Philly is like the dead last in terms of Northeastern cities but at least it'll bring in more money here.

I love Philly and its beautiful skyline of buildings.

Please its the second biggest outside of New York.. it has amazing restaurants, culture, history etc.

I remember when she was on the floor of the House of Representatives, saying Republicans’ use of the term ObamaCare was disparaging to the President... It is clearly in violation of House rules.

Why would the Affordable Care Act, their crown jewel, be disparaging to the President?

Hillary had HillaryCare and Romney had RomneyCare? I didn't hear anyone complaining.
