Listen to what I said. You are reacting without thinking about what I stated. Best Album 2015 is a more appropriate title IMO. They use Best <insert genre here> Album in every other category. Why not AOTY too? Or have AOTY and Best Album. When I think of album of the year I think of the impact an album had throughout the year.

If the Grammy want to keep at least a minimal credibility absolutely no. Apart from the fact that you thinking that an "album no one bothered to listen" is not worthy of recognition is scaring. This is present of music : people obsessed with Billboard and Mediatraffic. Sad.
you have a good point, i agree with you. when you say album of the year, you imagine something that had impact during that time, impact and quality of course. for example, when you think about 1982, what album comes to mind? thriller, it had impact and quality. simple like that.
I don't get y'all. First everyone drags the Grammys and say: "grammy is a joke!!! the award is based on popularity not quality!!1!"
Now a "who" (according to people) won the AOTY category and everyone is complaining about the fact that apparently "no one listens to Beck". I mean what y'all want?

I'm glad Beck got it over Sam, Ed, or Pharell. His album was better than those 3, at least
edit: I agree the name of the award is confusing.....Album of the Year does imply a bit of impact, influence, etc. It's the same thing with SOTY and ROTY though. They don't call them "Best Song" or "Best Record"...
