I know this was from a few months ago, but it's so great, and hasn't been posted yet, but Betty Who described some of the lyrics from some of her songs:
Quote:
In the song Alone Again, there is a lyric that some people have actually called me out for on Twitter, (...) and I want to set the story straight for this lyric, "waiting for you to come around, is like waiting for rain in a year long drought." It is in fact from A Cinderella Story, one of my favorite movies of all time. I was at home at my parents house, and I had just watched it, and I was sitting around at the piano, and I was just fiddling around with the song. There's a part at the end where Hilary Duff gets all sassy and head bitch in charge and goes after Chad Michael Murray and is like "waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought, useless and disappointing.", and she really commits, and it's a beautiful moment. (..) and I was like 'this is gold', I love this. So Hilary Duff has been a direct influence, her attitude, her sass, her commitment, her drive, her passion.
I remember when she tweeted about it too. I love it when these new artists say that Hilary has influenced them, it shows the Queen did really leave an impact...
