A missing horse is currently on the loose in the Upperco area, having leapt a fence at a nearby farm Monday morning. Owner Courtney Sendak said the horse, a white-gray 5-year-old Dutch warmblood named Iron League, was seen leaving An Otherwise Perfect Farm in the 3600 block of Black Rock Road and heading south around 10 a.m. Monday.
The Humane Society of Carroll County has several officers on the lookout for the horse, according to executive director Charles Brown.
"It can be tough to find them, but not as tough as with some other animals," Brown said. "Horses are pretty social. They're not typically a take-off-and-can't-find-them animal. They're big animals who like to stay relatively close to home."
Brown said they are working on spreading out from Iron League's last known location. The horse was last seen wearing a bright purple blanket and halter.
