Some info for you, darlings.
The referendum was not pro-gay or anti-gay. It was just asking three things - if people agree that the definition of marriage should be changed to allow gay couples to mary, then if gay couples should have the right to adopt children and lastly if children should have sexual education in elementary schools.
So the referendum was by no means anti-gay. The problem, however, was in how the questions were formulated. They were written in such complicated way that even a lawyer had problems to understand them and had to re-read them (multiple negation was used among other things). Thats why people were advised to boycott it. The referendum was a travesty, made only to popularize some politicians and it will most probably end up on the Constitutional Court just like several referendums before. Do you still wonder why Slovaks dont go to vote? Its always either because there is a lack of decent candidates or its just a travesty like this time.
Im half Slovak, btw.
