I in fact like the older videos, and it's not like there is alot of them anyways...they bring back good memories.
I'm sorry Ms. Jackson, oh I am for real.
I think it is great they play old videos. I was looking at the list and saw Depeche Mode "People Are People" was played and was shocked and happy at the same time. Maybe one day they will be a music network again. I doubt it but anything is possible.
You know the weirdest part about all this? MTV decides to air music videos from 3 AM to 9 AM, and it's hailed as a "return to Music Television! MTV cares about music again!" Just goes to show you how far we've come.
That early morning time slot was once the sacred home of music videos. I mean, a few years ago, everyone said MTV didn't play music videos anymore, but they still played videos around 3-9 AM every day. MTV just had to take music away completely (as they did for the past few months) before people actually noticed that.
That said, AMTV is off to a great start. It's actually compelling and interesting to watch, only because of all the "throwback" videos they're playing. Let's face it, no one really cares about making great music videos anymore. Those days are over.
AMTV is striking a perfect balance, playing some new songs just to keep exposing people to the new stuff, but also playing a ton of great music videos from earlier this decade and the '90s and '80s, when music videos were indeed great.
Yes, I enjoy turning on MTV in the mornings now and seeing videos. And yep, it's a mix of new and old stuff. I saw Run DMC after "If U Seek Amy" this morning
And I like they put what is coming up, so I know to turn it down.
Great you guys have your MTV back, maybe its the way they shouldve kept it up.
Mtv here always plays music videos throughout the night till the morning, yeah, I'm a morning-sleeper, so I can catch some old 90s videos
the feeling is just really good.
