I sometimes wonder if this was karma. John Legend and Common revealed that it was Bey who requested to open for them. So you guys who kept saying Grammy chose her performance can see that she could have performed her own music from her nominated album but instead took the shine of the woman who performs the song in Selma. Karma is real.

And now all the other nominees have their albums top 10 on iTunes but her. She's the only one who didn't perform from her album. I said it when Bey was paying her album dust all year that she was likely to lose AOTY.

I'm not even mad Bey lost. I just hate going to sleep yet again realizing that R&B is still a second class citizen in the music industry. One of the best genres in the world is taking a back seat to boring rock with its never evolving sound. Ugh. I don't know how much unsung episodes I have to watch to prove that case over and over again.

Man I don't care or know about Beck. Bey just dropped this album and stopped giving ***** about it from the next day. She lost that hunger to win. You've always had to work 10x as hard as a colored person to achieve the success of a Caucasian. Even worse as a woman, considering people are quick to undermine female art. I just feel like she put out such a great album and could have gone all the way to make sure everyone truly heard the songs from the album and not just talk about the release strategy. Hell some of the voters probably only know DrIL since they clearly only listen to Kiss FM which she never sent her songs to. You all should have known the trend by now, it's always the album with all the hits that wins. I'm confused about Beck though, but if that didn't win, going by their normal formula, Sam would have won.

I'm still not over Prince saying '[Black lives] matter' and then handing the highest distinction of the night to some boring white man over the one of the most enigmatic entertainers alive who just delivered her most cohesive / profound body of work yet

Such a joke, I know she doesn't 'need' them / it, especially considering how many she already owns, but this album as a collective whole wasn't recognized in any genre category................ that just seems like a huge issue to me
