I completely agree. And that doesn't mean we should go trashing whoever won, just because we think someone else is more deserving. In the end, it's just an awards show and life goes on. Your fav will still continue making music and being successful.

I do agree that Beck doesn't deserve to be disrespected. He is a fantastic artist, and I have been a fan since I was a child. It is just unfortunate that's his album was the one to defeat the possibility of Beyoncè winning.

But this is another issue within itself. You're basically saying "Welp, I know society is a mess but there's nothing we can do". You can at least speak up and attempt to inform others that things aren't all perfect and happy.

And Beck is an artist but he's not the artist who deserved that award tonight. A few old (powerful) white men thought differently.

I'd love to see some evidence that it's all "old white men" that vote for the Grammys who like rock more than anything and vote for the "white guy with a guitar".

I also agree with this. This isn't about Beck being as much as an artist as he is, it's about the politics. Nothing is just about "the best" or "what truly should be nominated/win." It's sadly all about the politics and we definitely saw that with Pharrell's win over Beyonce. To be honest, if Beyonce wasn't as popular as she was today (kind of like her Dangerously in Love era), she probably wouldn't have gotten a nomination and/or won as many Grammys that she has today. But yeah, it's all about the politics.

You're also missing the fact that Bey has won a few awards outside of the "black categories" as she's gotten bigger. I think it has more to do with the grammy voters' taste in music than a race issue. I think Bey would speak on this if she felt that she's being snubbed because she's black.

That song is white guys with guitars. It's a disco funk song. It's novelty and nostalgic. The sound is from a time when those old white men were kids. Not to mention just like Beck, Daft Punk are veterans and were getting honored after years of not. It also features the legendary Nile Rodgers.

Beyonce has the better album and really did deserve to win AOTY, but I don't think this is a huge injustice. After all, Beck has been nominated for the category more often than Beyonce and she received three awards tonight or something like that.

I agreed with the speech part. The grammys didn't even let artists have their moment without rudely interrupting them with that annoying "get off the stage" music.
