You don't "give up your life", but it definitely changes it. Your life will become centered around the child. My mom's friend had a very disabled boy who needs constant care (he's in his 20's now). It definitely changed her life, but it led to her opening up a school for people like that as her business. So definitely not "giving up her life" but it shaped it.

A women a few houses down, in her late 40’s tried to have a baby and she aborted due to downs syndrome and they make millions. I asked her if she knew the risks because there are higher when you are older and she said she was aware. I don't speak to her anymore. It’s a long story but the people living around me are asses, except my neighbor Ramsey who is from Iraq he knows what hard work is. I wish I could move away from this environment.
