35. The Walker Fitz and The Tantrums
Can't keep up with my rhythm. Though they keep trying. Too quick for the lines they throw.
This song has been on numerous commercials and movie trailers. All I got to say is that it's a damn catchy and hell of a song to walking around to and maybe bust a move or two. This is another song that almost made the countdown last year. Also this is another song that reps L.A.
34. Say Something A Great Big World ft. Christina Aguilera
And I will swallow my pride. You're the one that I love and I'm saying goodbye.
This song became a breakout when X-Tina performed it on the Voice with them. After that, that indie band became one-hit wonders and X-Tina is the same girl woman as she was before and can only get hits nowadays when she's featured on songs. Her power and her latching power. Both work. This song started my year-end countdown last year and I wrote a big ass essay about my personal perspective of the song. Now, I will talk about what's the song about. the song is about a guy getting anxiety and feeling frustrated of unrequited love by a girl. The ominous feeling of it all creates a dramatic and much sadder tale of this unrequited love. It makes piano ballad more powerful than it can ever be. As the song keeps going, the hope for love is fleeting each time until only whispers ca be hear signaling that hope is an all time low. I feel for this song. Their voices speak to me
33. West Coast Lana Del Rey
I can see my baby swinging/His Parliament's on fire and his hands are up/On the balcony and I'm singing/Ooh baby, Ooh baby, I'm in love.
This wavey surf-rock sound got me hypnotized. The chorus is oddly enough very catchy and serves as a nice sing-along. It's a nice to be full of lush, full of bliss, full of life, full of euphoria like Lana is feeling when she's at the west coast where's the best place to be. I should know because yeah. In this song, even the joyous times she had at the west coast, she comes back to her lover because she has a burning desire for him. It's true on the west coast that we got that die young mindset with getting drunk to have fun and that's how it is here. But, also I'm the kind of person that is laidback. Whenever at the beach or at home. In California, not all places are beaches. I mean, there's cites that some of them are not near any water or small town cites, the farm places, and yeah, the beaches. So not all people living there are stereotypical surfers that say "Totally dude!" I like to fall back and relax to this song that was #1 in my persona countdown before.
32. Bailando Enrique Iglesias ft. Sean Paul, Descemer Bueno, and Gente De Zona
I wanna be contigo/And live contigo, and dance contigo/Para have contigo/Una noche loca (una noche loca)/Ay besar tu boca (y besar tu boca).
I'm amazed how the crowd reacts to this song. While I was at the Mexico v. Chile game with my brothers and step-father, when halftime and intermission started, this song was played and I looked around and almost everyone was dancing and having fun with this song. This song and its power and impact. I want to dance with a girl to this song even though I don't like or can't dance, but the magic of the moment will all I care about. It's a fun and catchy to evoke energy and have a good time. For countdown purposes, I only put the English version of the song in this spot. I agree that Spanish > English and the You-Tube views agree. Over 600 million for the Spanish video. I liked all three versions of this song plus the duo version with just Descemer and Gente. I like Sean Paul's presence the song because he brings goof hype into the song and I miss good music from him. The third version I'm talking about is the Portuguese Version featuring Luan Santana. That dude is not bad. All in all, I enjoy the good times I had with this one. The highest Spanish-speaking song in this countdown.
31. Goodbye Glenn Morrison ft. Islove
It's enough, that I know. Our time had a home. In your heart was a place. But the glass always breaks. From the start we were brave. Yet it all seemed amazing.
Glenn Morrison is the producer and Islove is the vocalist. Both of them did a solid job in making getting addicted and feel for this song. This song became #1 on my countdown after spending a good amount of time on the countdown. I first this song back in 2013 when 20 on 20 was around. Then, Hits 1 added it in 2014 and that's was my only source besides You-Tube to hear this wonderful song.
30. Can't Remember to Forget You Shakira ft. Rihanna
Ohohohoh ohohohoh. I can't remember to forget you. Ohohohoh ohohohoh. I keep forgetting I should let you go. But when you look at me, the only memory, is us kissing in the moonlight.
That steaming hot video. Mmm. Aheh. Poor Shakira, contiuing to fall her lover's looks even thought he did her wrong. She even had a note to remind herself to remember to forget him and not repeat the same mistake, but nope. Rihanna did nice work on this and Shakira is as good as she is. Together, they made a hot pop rock song that keep me going.
29. Drunk in Love Beyoncé ft. Jay-Z
Graining on that wood, graining, graining on that wood. I'm swerving on that, swerving, swerving on that. Big body been serving all this, swerve. Surfing all in this good-good.
It may not be the best Bey/Jay collaboration or better than Crazy in Love, but it's still a solid song. The beat is banging and the production sets the mood just right. It's a good song about the celebration of love and sex in a marital relationship. That's nice. Bey freest lye her verses so well for herself and also sings so nicely to create the hype for this drum kicking and mystifying jam. Those two are love drunk, their love for each other extended from crazy stupid love to (not) too drunk to f**k ya! Their love is that powerful and has passion that it's like their drunk. Also, they're are drunk while in love and have the best time of their lives and they tell us all from the alcohol and D'usse to talk dirty to me, wordplay and rough sex and finishing that intense love making and sleep and wake me to do it again. That's how drunk in love they are...in this club. Jay's rapping is not bad and his verse is fine except the controversial reference to Ike Turner and that cake scene from that movie. While Jay was probably saying that Bey is Tina in that she surpass Jay and she can get successful on her own and Jay is Ike for being the lesser of the two career. Regardless, the domestic violence Ike did to Tina in their relationship always overshadows everything else so Jay never should've have ever rap that line and it's odd that Bey never noticed that and had it removed. Still, this song shows that Bey and Jay are sexual partners for life and have no shame telling the world about it. The video is hot...and cold. Bey's body has lost me some words. Also, serfbort!
28. Magic Coldplay
Call it magic, cut me into two. And with all your magic, I disappear from view. And I can't get over, can't get over you. Still, I call it magic; such a precious jewel.
I wasn't into this song that much at all and instead was into Midnight. Magic became a grower over time and now, it made the countdown while Midnight got kicked off to make room for other songs. It's been pointed out that this song resembles M-mmmmmmadnesss. Now that I think about, I do hear Mmmaaaggic. Regardless, they made it into their own song. The melodramatic sound and mysteriously vibe creates an aura of thought to reflect something, something important and worth memorable. This is what Chris is doing in this song. He remembers all the magical moments he had with Gwyneth before the divorce happened. Even with the sh!tstorms he had with her, he still loves her and treasure their magical times. Even the relationship has end, Chris still believes in magic and faith in love. His repetition on certain words is made clear that his feelings is true and wants the listens to know that for sure. The song makes good use of stage magic references. Also, I like the beat of the song. Magic is a good cooping mechanism to be with ease. The song became #! in The Zone.
27. Mind Over Matter Young the Giant
And if the world don't break. I'll be shakin' it. Cause I'm a young man after all. And when the seasons change. Will you stand by me? Cause I'm a young man built to fall.
It's a simple song that I like it just for that. I don't got mind over matter since I always overthinkng the issues I'm having and I"m young man built to fall. But in this song, I don't think it matters. Well, I guess I have no shame in saying I long for female companion that is imitate and makes me feel good.
26. All the Rage Back Home Interpol
She said, you wanna recline and be paid? You're gonna see my face in lights. My faith won't lie. But my sweet, you don't need mine to come away. Just say you'll love me, just say you'll love me alone.
This is a song where I go crazy for despite its sound. I do like this sound by them and I"m with it.
Can't stop! Top 25! All or nothing!

I agree that Heroes is a little bit generic.
Prayer In C! one of the best songs released in years, love that remix! (the original not so much, too slow for my taste! ) Not On Drugs is good. Money on My Mind is my favorite Sam Smith song as a solo artist. Of course my favorite song from this set is One More Day! incredible song with a flawless production, I'm so glad it was a top 5 hit in the UK, but it really deserved #1 the only thing that pisses me off is that music video hate it! and agree with you, Erin McNaught, Elliot's wife, is so **** hot
Best Friend is good!
Jack Jones is amazing! Go Deep is an amazing track, needs more music from him!
Afterlife is so good! too bad I discovered that song way too late. You just put 2 of my favorite songs together, My Love and I Got U! both are incredible songs that I still listen to almost everyday Budapest
Wasted! love that song, but the old Tiesto is dead lol Young Girls is one of my favorite songs from Bruno. Blame is just alright, another forgettable single from Calvin Harris that I liked for some months, nothing too special Animals! and I like Love Runs Of too, but it got old really fast! and I don't like "Don't" but is the least annoying ed sheeran's single for me
The Walker! love that song! sounds like a hit, don't know why it flopped. Say Something... I used to hate that song but is a grower lol. West Coast is good, but I prefer any single from Born To Die. Bailando is so good! the only song in spanish I used in 2014! and I love Magic! first Coldplay song I like in years, probably since "Speed Of Sound"
Can't wait for top 25!

Let me clasp my hands together and get to work
I think that I may have to add a certain album to my near real-estate sized collection. A lot of people seem to love real estate and I think they're growing on me. I need that Atlas to find my wayu.
I dare you to fins a Shakira song that it'nt good. Dare certainly is great, just a fun time. Pills N Potions, Show Me Step, all songs that any Empire could be proud of.
Flame, your Top 40 is near perfect. Even though I'm not a fan of Ed your Don't write-up was amazing
Quote:
Poor Ed and his f**king or ahem, his messing problems.

I hate that about West Coast. The steroetypes I'm in California too.
I mean, all the songs: Bailando, Magic, Can't Remember to Forget You = great. I'm loving your write-ups. You're so close
Take it home to the Zone!
Also, it's been great seeing your best of. Your write-ups are always top notch and your taste is on point. It's been fun.

ATRL Member- Best of Title: Top 200 Songs of 2014: 25-16!!!
Feedback Section
JGibson-You like a good amount of songs this time around.
AshleeSimpsonFan-I heard the original on someone's Best of and I liked it, though it did sound like someone singing it all cheap for You-Tube. Good to know that you like a solo Sam Smith song and Elliot is lucky to have Erin to do the naughty. I'm really loving the dance music this year. Ouch on Tiesto. I see with you mean with Blame. Good to know that you know which Ed single is the less terrible. The Walker should've also been a mainstream hit given the amount of commercials it was featured. That long you liked a Coldplay song. Good comments from you.
Bloomers-Ready to feedback at ya. Real Estate are good and glad many people like them. Nope, can't find it. Shakira has no bad songs. The only thing that Pedro could say as a fact. What a great Empire that can be. Even if you don't like an artist, I have the power to enjoy me talking the ones you detest that I like. Damn right! California love right here. Yes, my personal countdown has been said. Thanks for your kind words and I had fun making my Best of and replying back to you and everyone else.
Brandon-The Walker in love! The Drunk Walker.
I'm here again and let me rush this.
25 Habits (Stay High) Tove Lo
Stayin' in my play pretend where the fun ain't got no end/Can't go home alone again need someone to numb the pain.
Tove Lo came out of nowhere to bring a meaningful pop song that sounds good and get some emotion from the vocals and the sound. Yes, the Swedish artist let us know about what she has in her mind and she shares it through music. The way Tove Lo sings, it made me feel for her and understand what's she going through. Basically, the song is about Tove Lo getting wasted and doing casual sex in order to keep the memory of her ex-boyfriend wipe from her mind. She has to party because staying home will make her sad and be easier to lose herself of the painful memories of her ex. Partying is a habit for her and now, the habit has a reason to stay high.....all the time to keep him off her mind. This song is not sugarcoated and is more realistically as reality is harsh and so is real life. This makes a more meaningful pop song that can be taken either to party for the joy of it and have an excuse to get high or to relate with what Tove Lo is feeling. Tove Lo's vocals brings emotion especially in the hook to show how the breakup took a toll on her and understanding her state of mind. I prefer the original than the Hippie Sabotage remix. The remix became popular throughout the world while the original became a hit in the US. I'm assuming the remix sounds better when you're actually high. I use this song as an escape to ease the pain of getting stressed out and getting away from the drama. Apparently, Tove Lo has some actual habits. One is mentioned in the song. She eats her dinner in her bathtub AND sleeps there when she's comes from getting drunk. She also leaves never-ending voicemails, addicted to coffee, leaves the lights on in her apartment, and falling in and out of love so fast. Tove Lo could have a future as she does well to dabble in pop, EDM, and alternative. She made it high into the top 25.
24 Talk Dirty Jason DeRülo ft. 2Chainz
Been around the world, don't speak the language. But your booty don't need explaining. All I really need to understand is when you. Talk dirty to me.
Talk dirty to me! Cue the trumpets! Derülo sing fine in this song and brings the energy to get this jam started. Jason knows the one language that the international ladies speak and that is dirty. He travels all around the world and meeting foreign girls. Even though he can't speak their native languages, he can detect the tone of their voice when they're speaking dirty, which is even hotter in foreign language, which leads to body language. This song has international love. Beside the production, Jason names places like Haiti and London to Taiwan. Languages like Spanish. Plus, Ménage á three-o originated from the French phrase "ménage á trois", meaning threesome. This also adds in to the numeric wordplay in the bridge. Jason got what the girls needs and he's happy to give it to them. I don't mind 2Chainz in this song as he adds or takes away nothing from the song, but he's here because I like his verse. Also 2Chainz repeats his name as Dos Coadenas is Spanish for "2 chains." Also, big booty. The video got 200 millions views! The memory I had with this song is when while I was waiting for the bus to go back home, a guy was walking along playing this song and I looked at the girl across from me and she looked at me and I just shyly mouthed the words to the song to her and she chuckled. The way her facial expression was when I looked at her, she kinda wanted me to say it. I feel that she had a bit of a small crush on me, but I think she had a boyfriend. This wasn't some random girl, she rides the same bus as me regularly until halfway of the year. Unlike me, she didn't ride the bus for school, she rode for something else. I don't know what it is, but I'm assuming it was for some alcohol help program or the like. I don't know. I travel to go to college by the bus and by going to a different town to attend school. Talk dirty to me is the way to have fun with it or get slapped. Depends the approach. The song peaked at 2 in my personal countdown.
23 Animals Martin Garrix
Motherf**kin' Animals
I never thought that an instrumental song would be a radio hit in the US and hear the cars blasted it on the radio. Plus the video in Spinnin' Records channel got over 400 millions. Speaking of the video, they do act like animals and freaky freaks and wearing animal masks. My favorite part to have fun with is when the only words said in the song is heard and the beats drops and I imitate that like I would sing along to a chorus of a non-instrumental song. The beat by the way is sick! The song could be suited for a scary tunnel ride....in the club. I get crazy and act like I'm high whenever I listen to this song. Garrix's production is solid and he already got a hit at a young age. He's like 18 now? This was #1 on my countdown.
22 i Kendrick Lamar
Keep my money in the ceiling, let my mama know I'm free/Give my story to the children and a lesson they can read/And the glory to the feeling of the holy unseen/Seen enough, make a motherf**ker scream, "I love myself!"
This song can about as Lamar explained on the track while premiering it on LA's Power 106, he explained that the song was inspired by the lack of self love on the streets of Compton and the song is about loving oneself. This is what Lamar's personal perspective on the world. How are you got love something or someone if you don't love yourself. Because Lamar lives in Compton where there are tons of gang violence and other atrocities, it made him feel depressed until he realized that he should find happiness in himself and hopes that he can spread it around and make them feel the energy and feeling positive loving themselves despite the world being a f**ked up place to live. Personally, it's a great song that I learned to love myself and not wallow in self-pity. At times, I get down on the dumps and bring myself down. I'm not really confident with myself. I tried to stay away from negative headlines and whatever bad situations happen around, I usually get to me, but I remind myself to depending the situation, either to strive to get better or realized that I can't live in pretend and keep my head up and just live life and see how it goes and have the mindset of positive over negative. The worst case of depression I had was in 2011 mainly for what was I doing with my life and my purpose mixed with cynicism. The song itself gets me going and feeling good since it is uptempo. Larmar's rap delivery this time is not aggressive and in your face, but instead more rhythm and flow. Still in fast-paced. His vocal style was fun and smooth. All of this contribute to how versatile the current king of rap is based on his rapping style, the music, and vocals. The production is something to amazed with its mix of music, the funky guitar, the bassline, and the classic acoustic drum groove makes this a fine jam to get down to and connect with yourself and live in the moment. I like how the beat changes when it gets to the third verse to give it more a dark vibe where the internal struggle personally to Lamar is described and fights his out of the darkness of himself to find the light to love himself and win the battle against depression. Lamar and producer Rahki had live musicians replay "Who’s That Lady" instead of sampling the song. The song itself sounds nothing like on the radio and could've cross onto pop radio. Regardless, i is one of the better feeling good songs in 2014.
21 The Man Aloe Blacc
I got all the answers to your questions. I'll be the teacher you can be the lesson. I'll be the preacher you be the confession. I'll be the quick relief to all your stressin' (this is my world).
Even though, I didn't feel like I'm the man in 2014, I still feel good and have fun with this song to the fullest. This is where Aloe gets to shine by himself and this became a hit for him. He's known for Wake Me Up and I first heard of him with his song I Need a Dollar. This is simple, but positive and repetitions is the key to get the message across. Aloe's vocal skills are nice and well done. He brings the soulful vibe into this song and gets me going. Like the use of a choir to enhance the listening experience to really enjoy this pop/soul/R&B sound. It peaked at 2 in my countdown.
20 Hey Brother Avicii
Hey brother, there’s an endless road to re-discover. Hey sister, know the water's sweet but blood is thicker. Oh, if the sky comes falling down for you. There’s nothing in this world I wouldn’t do.
The uncredited vocalist is Dan Tyminski. The reason I didn't put his name with Avciii above like I did last year with Aloe Blacc because I don't know this guy at all. From what I've read, he's a bluegrass singer. Make sense since this is part bluegrass. Basically, this could be seen as Wake Me Up 2.0, but it's more bluegrass/acoustic with dance beats in the background. The vocals are stunning and flows well with this sound. It feels more than just a simple song. The song is infectious and it's a song to let it get it you and enjoy.
19 Until It's Gone Linkin Park
A fire needs a space to burn. A breath to build a glow.
The message of this song is that you don't know what you've got until it's gone. Cliche as that sounds, it hold true to people that related either never appreciating the things you have because you're used to it like material things, family, or a lover. The song starts out with a synth effect/line that are elements known for from their first two albums. Then, it turns into a brooding, rocking song that echos the message in an intense way. Chester's vocals are matched with gloom infused with intense energy. The song has a good buildup towards where Chester screams for us as the intensity level increases as it ends. A really good song by them where it's mellow, but got the killer energy to back it up. This song was #1 on my countdown.
18 I’m Not the Only One Sam Smith
I have loved you for many years/Maybe I am just not enough/You've made me realise my deepest fear/By lying and tearing us up.
This song is beautiful and wonderful. The selling point is Sam's voice. When you hear this song, his voice captivates you with his soulful vibe and his emotional drive that you only want to hear his voice and be in awe and continue to listen for just his voice. That's why my mother enjoys this song. Sam's vocal ability is off these charts and soaring high. His vocals really shine in the bridge where he is really singing from the heart and then, the climax is there. The story is that Sam finds out that his lover have been unfaithful to him, but the lover does not know this. Throughout the song, Sam lives through the trauma of knowing this fact, feeling bad about himself that he's not good enough after loving his lover for many years, wishes that this is over, but still needs him and knowing that his heart is not tamed, but Sam's is. Sam mentions that there were signs to this, but he ignored them because he loves him that much to continuing to latch onto him and say La La La to paint the picture of staying with him. Sam is prone to loneliness and neediness so it's difficult for him to leave his lover despite the circumstances perpetrating the situations. This song gives us more information of how Sam wants love and how bad he is in love with his lover that Sam has to deal with his knowledge of his lover being unfaithful in order for him to keep his lover that Sam talks about in his album. Speaking of the album, I enjoyed it. During this part of the album, Sam knows that he's not the only one that the lover is here for.
17 Riptide Vance Joy
I was scared of dentists and the dark/I was scared of pretty girls and starting conversations/Oh, all my friends are turning green/You're the magician's assistant in their dreams.
I got into this late as I first heard it close to the end of summer while it was already a big hit in alternative earlier in the year. I really liked this a lot because it's a good old sing along, catchy alternative and folk song. The song seems to be mixed with weird ideas and images put together in the lyrics. It's like one of those make them up as you go along and see as it sticks. The video is an example of that and takes the lyrics literal. The song contains pop culture references such as Vance comparing his girl he wants to be in relationship with the hot Michelle Pfeiffer, known for role in Scarface and Grease 2. The way Vance sings this song is amazing and has rhythm to go along with the acoustic guitar. Overall, it's a blissful song to enjoy and get stuck into the riptide because the song is damn good that you don't want to escape.
16 Dark Horse Katy Perry ft. Juicy J
So you wanna play with magic? Boy, you should know what you're falling for. Baby, do you dare to do this? Cause I'm coming at you like a dark horse.
This is my favorite Prism song thus my favorite Prism single. Looks like I wasn't the only one who really liked the song as it was the second promotional single as selected by fans in a MTV promotion until it quickly became the third single after Unconditionally burned out fast and went on to became one of Katy's successful singles of all time. The demand was that high. The video has over 600 million views. Damn. Speaking of the video, I liked it though I understand why the concern was made and how terrible the video that some say. I really got addicted into this song like Juicy J got addicted to this one dope girl. The reason is because of the beat. Who knew that Dr.Luke and Max Martin were capable of making of a song that is not really generic or ain't the typical pop stuff. The beat is dope and I can snap to it. I can't snap, but I can try. I'm more into this song because I like the trap/hip-hop influenced production this pop song has. The sound does well to build-up energy and intensity and also to fit with the melody element. The part when they go Ho! Hey! gets me pumped up. I think that it sounds like. Katy sings like someone who knows what's she doing and speaking like a strong woman that won't get put down. In this song, she warns the guy trying to be in the relationship with her to not do her wrong and also if he can handle Katy's life as this is going to be a ride. She wants him, but she's ready to coming at him like a dark horse anytime he screwed it up with her as she's the dominant one in the relationship. This song basically is about commitment issues as Katy would know because of the one that got away. Because of that, Katy is cautious. I like Juicy J in this song. He brings hype into this song including his verse. I did hear a solo version without him and it was alright, but I prefer him to be in the song. His verse is basically having more than a thing with this dope girl that got addicted to her love like a drug and they do drugs. Normally, Juicy just hit it and run-uh...by that I mean just having a one night stand as in having intercourse at night and leave her in the morning. Not only this song quickly became #1 in the Hot 100, it also became #1 in my countdown. Katy knows I want you because she has me in her spell.
I'm blessed with the additional time because the admin forgot the site exist. It's clear that Athens and everyone wanted be to finish right? I'm coming at you with the updates like a dark horse. I need to since I got less 24 hours now to completed it. Too bad the gold bar shrunk. Stay tuned for the top 15!

Flame! Yes! Talk Dirty!
I think we might've had the song in the same position (more or less)! I love that song I'm also a huge Dos Coadenas fan
i is pretty great too. It has a message that's important too. What's not to like about that. Got to love K-Dot. And yeah, you're right about the instrumental. It's just so light and funky, thanks to the Isleys.
Aloe Blacc is the Man, but really, the Man is Dan Tyminski, because Hey Brother is my favorite Avicii song. I like it more than Wake Me Up even if it is Wake Me Up 2.0
And Dark Horse I love me some Oscar winner Juicy J. Plus, it brought us Katy's Dark Horse dance
Very nice so far! Come at us like a Dark Horse!

ATRL Member- Best of Title: Top 200 Songs of 2014: 15-11!!
Feedback Section
potentbreakupsong-Good to see comments from you and I agree that Hey, I'm the Brother are underrated.
JGibson- Almost half.
15 Team Lorde
We live in cities you'll never see onscreen/Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things/Livin' in ruins of a palace within my dreams/And you know we're on each other's team.
This song was first seen last year around 180-171 and now, it's in the top 20. This is the song where it removed Lorde of her one hit wonder status. This is younger sister of Royals. All native and hopeful while not caring about society and the media. Feeling good about her city even though it's in ruins and it never shown in the movies since it's unappealing. All Team cares about is its friends and they have each other backs. The chorus embodies a dreamy vibe which makes sense since this is Lorde's fantasy world that she cares to live from Royals. She wants to live in her palace. Too bad she had to grow up and know the reality of society. The video shows Lorde and her team's world that they dream of living. Team is a mix of pop, alternative, and electro with synths, bass, and snare drum over a clapping beat. It's really an escape to live in your own world and get away from reality and live your own fantasy. Team went to #1 on my countdown.
14 All of Me John Legend
How many times do I have to tell you/Even when you’re crying you’re beautiful too/The world is beating you down, I’m around through every mood/You’re my downfall, you’re my muse.
Believe or not this song was in my on deck last year. I heard this song in late 2013 and I'm glad I heard it 2014 when it started to become a hit and went on to be a mega hit. The song may be seen as cheesy and boring, it's still a great power piano ballad. Legend's vocals is smoothing his lover and telling her no matter what faults she has, he will give all of him to her if she gives him all of her despite all the up and downs in the relationship. It's a nice sentiment to hear that love conquers all and this song is like a separation. The song was inspired by Legend and his relationship with wife model Chrissy Teigen. Legend play this song to his then--fiancée and she loved it and cried. This song is a perfect proposal and wedding song and Legend play this song for his and his fiancée's wedding. It is simple, but a beautiful song. There is a Tiesto remix of this. I didn't really care for the remix and prefer the original. I do like the version with Jennifer Nettles and Hunter Hayes on guitar. There is also a video with violinist Lindsey Stirling. This song not only made the #1 on the Hot 100, but on my countdown.
13 Happy Pharrell
Bring me down/Can't nothing bring me down/My level's too high to bring me down.
Honestly, I was afraid to listen to this song since it was from Despicable Me. I finally heard it when it became a hit and I liked it. It's a song that I can have fun with and be happy and overall, blissful positivism . The song is infectious and it's a great clap along song that no matter how repetitive the song is, it's still feels good to be happy and be in a much happier place and feel a whole lot better when I enjoy this catchy jam. I really digging the soulful vibe and inspiration. It just make me feel like dancing or bopping my head to this jam. The important Motown thing is to feel good about yourself whenever happiness comes to me and not get dragged down by negativity. The music makes me happy and that's all I care about no matter what kind of sound it is as long as I enjoy it. There was a 24 hour video for this song. I didn't see it and only the 500 million views official video. The impact of this is when I was around my campus and saw the choir singing this song. Aww, happiness. ATRL hates this song because it got overplayed to death, blocked their faves from #1, and there are not really happy since they get so easily bothered if someone does not share the same opinion as their fave. They drag because they're miserable and misery creates company. I don't care if the song is too happy, but I can say that anyone who loathes this song hates being happy. How can one hate happiness especially with the cynicism of the world. I like using this one people who can't stand the song on a jokey matter. I can only get annoyed if someone sings this horribly. Because I'm happy. This song made to #1 in my countdown. Pharrell is the trend to work with.
12 A Sky Full of Stars Coldplay
I don't care. Go on and tear me apart. I don't care if you do. Cause in a sky. Cause in a sky full of stars. I think I saw you.
Quite frankly, this is my favorite Ghost Stories single. It may be way different from the album and all of their other work, but since I'm a music lover, I'm open for these kind of these as long as I like and I did. I really got addicted to this song during the summer. The carefree vibe, the joyous energy, the upbeat, catchy jam that I like to be full of bliss. The best part of this song is the nicknames for the songs like A Sky Full of Awesome or A Sky Full of Slayage. Even if you hate it, you still give it a nickname like A Sky Full of Sh!t and A Sky Full of Whatever. Avcii did a good job on producing this song. The EDM sound works and it feels so wonderful like all I want to do is look at the all the stars in the sky and worry about nothing. It's an upbeat jam that makes me happy and gets people to jump around and dance. It's like a spectacular event kind of song. So amazing. This is the song to get high and keep anything bad like a heartbreak out of your mind. It's an explosive work of art. This song was #1 on both my personal countdown and my request countdown. I think the latter, it was #1 3 times. That's how the song reaches a new level of carefree drive.
11 Headlights Eminem ft. Nate Ruess
Anything to have each other's goats, why we always at each others throats 'specially when dad, he ****ed us both, we're in the same ****ing boat. You'd think that'd make us close, further away it drove us, but together.
This is a great and mature and emotional song done by Eminem. This is an apology to his mother for all the he dissed her in this songs because of the hostility and rage between them. Em references songs that he notoriously diss his mother such as Cleaning Out My Closet.’ Em talks about tall the drama they had between them in their earlier life and when Em left. This song serves as a hopeful reconciliation with his mother and Em realizes how wrong he was to deal with his mother like that and hopes to meet her again as her mother is getting old and is sick. Nate Ruess' parts of the song are good and help to feel the emotions. Em forgives his mother while he never forgets his deadbeat father that left the family when he was very young and I don't blame him. My original father is a deadbeat, but I don't hate him, but disappointed that he's a lazy ass that couldn't help himself. He still came back once in awhile to take me, my brother and my cousins out. Regardless, he's not good enough for my mother. I never saw him again when me and my family moved to a small town. That's as far as I will personally go with my life. Too bad Em's father never came back. So mother Mathers, Em forgives you, Nathan does, Em's younger half-brother that was taken away to foster care due to the mother's incapability to take care of him and because of her condition. Hell, even Nate Ruess forgives and why not, so does Nate Dogg from the grave. I forgive you even though my name is not Nat. The video got me thinking. Also the video came too late, but I guess it seem right to released it in Mother's Day, but by that time, I was tired of the song. That's part of the reason for my rule change on my countdown about only letting songs that have videos debut. This song became #1 on my countdown. The reason it failed to make the top 10 in this countdown because of better songs I really liked and compared to them, this song is kinda forgettable.
Top 10! I think I see the headlights!

10 Best Day of My Life American Authors
I'm never gonna look back, whoa. Never gonna give it up, no. Please don't wake me now.
Hey,look it's Imagine Dragons' tribute band. You know Imagine Dragons are so good that they all already have their own tribute band . In this ID-esque song, this is all about looking forward to your best day of my life and having confidence that this is going to be the best day of your life. This is such a uplifting , catchy, and joyous song that it makes feel happy. This is a positive and seize the day anthem where you' have a less pessimistic outlook and feel that this is your moment to shine and about making sure this is the moment. Anything could be your best and the best ones are the ones that come the less expected I may not have THE best day of my life so far, but I at least had the best day of the year. Not really, but like best moment of time.Which is that I becoming more social and outgoing as I slowly come out of my shell. I made a new friend and he is good to hang out with and one time , when we heard this song, we sang the chorus while laughing so this is a great sing-along and carefree anthem, The video for this song is very funny and entertaining. I wanted to put Believer in this countdown, but there was no room for it. This song was #105 last year and this song started out the top 10. Very impressive. Not only that, but it had one of the longest run on the countdown and is one of the two songs that went to #1 after being on the countdown for so long. Funny that the two songs where #1 two times. The time will come when I have the best days of my life.
9 Chandelier Sia
Party girls don't get hurt/Can’t feel anything, when will I learn/I push it down, push it down.
I bet Amaloner is swinging from the chandelier right now. This is a really great song that has layers in it. By just hearing the song itself, it's like a weird catchy song that you can have fun with and have a nice time and live life to the fullest. But yet, when you look deeper into the song, you see that it's actually a dark party song. A masqueraded party anthem. When you get to the post chorus of the song, Sia sings in pain of drinking too hard, but regardless of this sad state of mind, she has to drink because of pressure, addition, and/or to ease the pain of reality. Chandelier is used as a metaphor for being on top of the world and how high can one go until it's too much. Partying is used as an escape from troubles, but then, the trouble becomes recovering from the hangover and being somewhere not familiar.. The way Sia sings is so angelic and works well to connect to the music and the listeners. It's a very well worked approach for a pop song, The video for this song is spectacular. The young dancer Maddie Ziegler knows how to put on a performance and does it flawlessly. The song was #1 on The Nation more than once. Funny that she's sounds like Rihanna, but Sia does the writing for pop gurls like Rihanna and has been in the music scene longer.
8. Summer Calvin Harris
We fell in love. As the leaves turned brown. And we could be together baby. As long as skies are blue.
Calvin sings again and ASF is happy. Anyway, this is one of my top summer jams that basically is enjoying the summertime especially when falling in love, which is mostly temporary. A summer fling as you will. Calvin sings well and his production is solid. I like how this was released before the summer and that solidify a hit for him. This song was #1 for both of my countdowns. Good things happen when Calvin sings.
7. Rude MAGIC!
Can I have your daughter for the rest of my life?/Say yes, say yes, cause I need to know/You say I'll never get your blessing 'til the day I die/Tough luck, my friend, cause the answer's still no
2013 song! Yeah! This is one of my top summer jams that I could mellow down to. This reggae pop song is pretty catchy. Basically, this song is about the guy trying to marry his girlfriend and traditionally, wants the father's blessing. But the father says no and he's sticking to it as he never says yes in the song. The guy says that he's going to marry the father's daughter anyway and they will be a family.Love conquers all. My family really overuses "Why you gotta be so rude?" Also, I saw a girl in my campus listening to this song and singing the chorus line. Yeah, I'm not looking forward to meeting any girl's parents. I don't want hassle. My brother's girlfriend' parents are not fond of him for some reason. The criticism this song got is that some of them give them 'Blurred Lines' vibes and some think that the singer is actually the one being rude. Oh, well. This was #1 on my countdown more than once. A #1 mega hit this was.
6.On Top of the World Imagine Dragons
If you love somebody/Better tell them while they're here, cause/They just may run away from you.
The longevity of this song is real. This is the third year in succession that this song made my year-end countdown. It made my 2012 countdown because of being featured in commercials and soundtracks already and I really like the song from the album. It made my 2013 countdown because of the released of the video and was released as the fourth single in alternative radio. It made this year's list because it was a big hit on Hits 1 and I continue to listen to this to this day. Now, I did not have a day where I was on top of the world, but I still feel like it did because of the song and the song helps me to motivate myself to meet my life goals. The band itself reach success and now, feel like like they're on top of the world as they tour around the world. They have come so far as I first heard them in April listening to It's Time and their EP was released in February 2012. Later on, they released their debut studio album and went on to sell well. This year, we're getting ready for them to released their second album soon. The Las Vegas band come from a long ways. This song is a great song because of its positivism and uplifting charm. This song spend almost a year on my countdown and went to #1 twice and it took a long time to even get #1. I'm feeling good right now.
5. Hideaway Kiesza
You're just a hideaway. You're just a feeling. You let my heart escape. Beyond the meaning.
This is a song that could've been #1 on this countdown, but it's not and it's starts out the top 5. It peaked at 3 in my countdown and I think that it even debuted at #1 in my request countdown. it was also #1 in the UK. This song is infectious. The beat is so good. This 90s inspired deep house music get me going and it is also relaxing. Kiesza has an amazing voice that has a soulful vibe to it that makes the song to standout more. It's a club jam that you can dance to and get crazy with it. She is also an excellent as evident in the choreography of the video and her Letterman performance. This song is basically about this guy being her hideaway. Hide away from life's troubles and the guy is just a hideaway until she feels more into him. Meaning he's a friend with benefits until Kiesza starts having feelings for him. It's a great song that I want to hideaway to listen to this song and music in general. i like the ooh ahh parts.
4. Stay With Me Sam Smith
Guess it's true, I'm not good at a one-night stand/But I still need love cause I'm just a man/These nights never seem to go to plan/I don't want you to leave, will you hold my hand?
This is another song that could've been #1 in this year-end countdown, but it's not. It peaked at #2 in the hot 100. The song is poignant as Sam is having an emotional conflict about one night stands. Sam is feeling sad for himself as he is lonely and wants love. He knew about the ordeal a one night stand, but still wants actual love so he stays with him a little while longer for companionship so Sam would've feel anymore lonely. This was Sam's first solo hit and I enjoy his soulful voice and this ballad with gospel elements, which helped the song to get more feelings. Hope we stay with him. He could win all the Grammy awards that he was nominated for.
3. Am I Wrong Nico & Vinz
So am I wrong for thinking that we could be something for real?/Now am I wrong for trying to reach the things that I can't see?/But that's just how I feel, that's just how I feel/That's just how I feel, trying to reach the things that I can't see.
This song was first released in their home country of Norway in 2013 before it became a mega hit in the US. It was #1 on my countdown. This is my song of the summer. I really enjoy listening this African-influenced pop song as it gives me joy. Basically, this is about achieve your dreams and letting anyone tell you any different and say you can't make it or be successful. It's about being on top of the world, ehh. It also can be about taking into the new level in a relationship with a girl or getting the girl. In anyway, is it wrong to achieve your dreams? Is it wrong to try and get the girl? No, no it's not. Am I Wrong/Rude are the like Get Lucky/Blurred Lines and that;'s just how I feel.
2 Stolen Dance Milky Chance
They’ve always been so kind/But now they’ve brought you away from here/I hope they didn't get your mind/Your heart is too strong anyway.
I'm addicted to this like a drug habit as this song is my escape from reality and all I want to do is let the music get to me and feel the wonderous vibe I get. This feels like a stoner anthem as this song feels peaceful, carefree, and harmless and one could get high on marijuana. I could get lost into this song and my mind would be at peace and feels like I'm in a dream where my imagination can run wild. Just listening to the voice soothing me and making my ear melt. It's like music paradise. I really enjoy this acoustic, slow-tempo, stomping, catchy, alternative song and getting my medicine from it. The song is basically about the on-off relationship of a girl and his drug habit is used as a metaphor and are connected. This fits well with the music where you can dance like you're high. I wonder what this song sounds like if I'm stoned? Oh, yes this is another 2013 song that was popular before and then, it got poplar in the US and other places. Too bad it didn't became a mainstream hit for them. This song was #1 3 times on my countdown. Making this high up is no shame. Hopefully, no one steals my drugs......errr my music.
And the #1 is.................
1. Take Me to Church Hozier
My lover's got humour/She's the giggle at a funeral/Knows everybody's disapproval/I should've worshipped her sooner.
Oh my God, what a predictable #1! I don't care, I really like this song. This is the magnum opus of all songs. That's right, a 2013 song became #1. I really glad this was a huge in many countries and I'm happy to know that this song not only appeared in the Hot 100, but peaked at 2. What an honorable accomplishment for this genius work of art. Let me tell you why this is a genius piece of work. The song lyrics take two meanings. One is the condemning of organized religion mostly likely pissing on Christianity. The other is treating a lover like she's a God as extended metaphors are used to describe the girl and the guy. The song sounds like an eerie Church sound that whom the bell toll. The way Hozier sings is like priest preaching to his people. The video takes in a new perspective of the song. The video is where two male lovers are separated from each other as a religious cult takes him away and burns and beat him up to death thus creating disturbing images. What to take from the song is that one shall not be blinded in their religious views. They got to be open-minded and learn to adapt to the modern world. Plus extremists are the worse and no one should kill someone in the name of anything. Sure, one can argue that the world could be a bit better without religion, but the thing is to not to be close-minded, The song serves as a spiritual healing listening experiencing while darkness is around. This song was #1 six times in the Zone so that's an easy indicator on how much I like the song. Funny that this top 2 is the last top 2 in the Zone. Take Me to Church/Stolen Dance are my personal Get Lucky/Blurred Lines. The song has taken me to life a bunch of times and I have enjoy it all. Hozier's eponymous album is one of the best I heard in 2014. Hozier knows also to do blues and folk rock along with alternative. This song is nominated for "Song of the Year" at the Grammy. I'm hopefully and predicting that it will win. Grammy and award shows credibility has been on the decline and dull so this must win to get some excitement again. A big year for Hozier. Congratulations.
And with that, I'm done taking you guys to my Best of. Thanks to everyone who commented on my Best of and I'm grateful for all the positive feedback I got from you all. I'm glad that the Best of got extended so I can finish this.I had a great time making my Best of and showing it to everyone that visited my year-end countdown. Once again, thanks and I appreciated the love I get from you wonderful members of this batsh!t site. Have a great 2015 and goodbye.

Take Me To Church is solid! Stolen Chance is okay but I'd rather listen to Riptide, haha. Happy to see Hideaway and Headlines getting some deserved love. 25 to 16 is a really strong group of songs. It makes me so happy to see Goodbye getting some love; it slayed my 2013 year-end. I like skimming through your comments on your songs, they're entertaining.

A great end to a great countdown
You made us swing from the Chandelier with the majority of the choices. Am I wrong when I say that your Best Of contained some great songs? I'd hate to be Rude, and I won't, because a lot of these songs made All Of Me Happy.
That number one. Take Me To Church with it!
Nice one Flame. I had a great time following it
