His album is awful, but everyone is kissing his ass because of the success he got, thanks to Adeles break, all the middle aged housewives and gheys needed to buy something boring and cheesy, his album fits perfectly.

Have you seen the nominations this year or past year wins? Sam Smith, Iggy Azalea, G I R L? None of them deserve any mentions. How about Mackelmore winning over Kendrick last year? Top 5 most acclaimed album of the decade vs an album which isn't even Top 1000 most acclaimed. What about MBDTF? The most acclaimed album of the decade by far & one of the most acclaimed albums of the century. Didn't even get AOTY nomination. Yet albums with 80% filler like Fearless won it. This award show is filth when it comes to quality. However, it's the most prestigious award a musician can get and it's not going to change anytime soon.

Because he's a talented artist who released a good album. All those other albums you listed are terrible.

Nontheless, I understand why it got nominated - it had great singles, and is a fairly good album from a safe artist. Plus he's white, gay, and British.

A simple, good album with generic songs about unrequited love. The fact that he's gay and sort of made a name for himself also counts.

I hope he sweeps the big 4 Grammys, he's so talented and ITLH slays, its Metacritic is wrongly extremely low for some reason

Sam's album is amazing.

He's mediocre, sings ballads, is fat and is singing about breakups.... not that hard to comprehend.... add in the gay and bulling factor and he gets more sympathy.

Now if he were a hot gay he would not be getting this praise.
