This era is just a big fat mess. I was disappointed when I heard Roar, although I loved it and I still use this flawless bop, but it sounds like a song from Teenage Dream, same goes to Birthday, International Smile and This Is How We Do (well TIHWD is kinda different, but still a disappointing, childish song). They wanted to release Birthday instead of Dark Horse, but when they finally released DH, they made a pink Egypt video... When Roar came out I was thinking it's going to be powerful era about own strength etc. The album is her best, more mature so far and songs like Spiritual, It Takes Two, Dark Horse, Legendary Lovers and Choose Your Battles are outstanding, but she ruined it with the videos and those three Teenage Dream outtakes (B, IS, TIHWD).
