Sometimes tough love is what it takes. he's known Mariah at her peak and knows what she is capable of and wants that for her as well as her fans. Aretha, Patti, Gladys Knight, etc are still excellent singers so there's no reason Mariah can't bring it. She's going through a bad patch now (Nick fiasco) but she can get back to the diva she was only if she wants to. My fav went through a crazy time after Chris but she was able to get back on track and soar. Mimi can too.

The fact is Mariah lost her powerful range along time ago. Over the course for 2 decades and a half her voice has been deteriorating and she knows it. If she can tweak her vocals around a bit and change the arrangements of her previous songs she would be good. Her lower range seems to work fine for her in songs like "Boy I Need You", "Touch My Body", "Obsessed", "Beautiful", & "You're Mine".

So it's not that she can't sing she just needs to stop thinking she still has "that range" and come to the realization that it's not there anymore. She can still tweak her older songs a bit. She gotta put in the work. Reinvent your vocals for 2005 not 1995.

The GP also needs to stop expecting 90s Mariah when it's clearly not going to happen. Be happy with what you are given. She has given more than enough in this industry for almost 3 decades. Let her have some fun with it.

P.S - She also needs to lose weight. She seems a bit lazy to me idk.

This is unfair. Mariah just gave birth to the twins not too long ago and has lost weight from that the healthy way and looks like how a real woman looks after she's had children. Maybe 3 more years from now, she MAY get back to her pre-baby form but she doesn't look bad with the weight she has lost. I think it's so fake and unrealistic for these fake celebrities to run around with bodies looking like they did before only three to five months after birth. It's not realistic unless you've had some work done or starving yourself and obviously Mimi hasn't gone under the knife.

You can hear her actually singing though. It sounds like she was singing with a backing track and couldn't hear herself. The performance, at least "Fantasy" was embarrassing...but she is still singing. I think it was more technical than anything.

I said same thing in that one Jamaica concert thread and a lamb (of course) brought up Britney. She wants to remain relevant, but won't do the work behind it. Singing just the ad-libs, stumbling around giggling and other unprofessional stage manners won't cut it Mimi.
