It started out already tackling big issues like bullying, being an outcast, peer pressure, etc, things that everyone deals with growing up in varying amounts. It included characters like a Jewish girl with two gay dads, a kid in a wheelchair, a "cool" athlete who was scared to join the Glee club because of what the other athletes would think, a flamboyant gay guy, an Asian girl, an African American girl, a Hispanic girl, a pregnant girl, etc. I thought that was a lot, but cool to show some real issues that most people go through and include so many different minorities. It made the show pretty groundbreaking upon its initial season.
Flash forward to now, and they've turned two of the girl characters into lesbians, they've added a transgender, they're currently turning another previously established character into a transgender, they've covered almost every taboo topic including the ones listed above, alcohol, drugs, affairs, pregnancies, and that isn't even all of it.
Has Glee gotten WAY too over the top with the dramatics and attempts to tackle every taboo topic there is?
I think it has. I loved the show in its first two seasons but its way too much for me now.
I personally love how diverse the cast is in Glee. It's realistic in this day and age.
And I don't mind that they try to cram every social issue under the sun into the episodes. I'd rather that than tired, drawn out storylines over the character's relationships like Gossip Girl
Transgender people are over the top?
Because you know, trans people are this niche thing so glee is trying to hard by representing them
Out of all the claims against glee why the hell would this be one
