Butterfly remains her best album lyrically, but Daydream is indeed pretty close
I'm going to need that mid-90's lyricism to come back cause her lyrics now, while miles better than the other girl's thesaurus ventures, are a shadow of the lyrical masterpieces of Butterfly.
IKR, I want this Mariah back
Quote:
And then you casually walked in the room
And I was twisted in the web
Of my desire for you
(And I was twisted)
My apprehension blew away
I only wanted you
To taste my sadness
As you kissed me in the dark
Quote:
Guardian angel I
Sail away on an ocean
With you by my side
Orange clouds roll by
They burn into your image
And you're still alive
It's irrelevant to dwell on the past
I'm accountable for what went bad
Quote:
Reflections of your love
Have come to wither
I thought I'd done my best to memorize
A picture fades of you and I together
I haven't come to terms
With how we said goodbye

If a Charmbracelet-esque album is the result, you better not

NOT both of you
My songwriting style in my native language doesn't really resemble Charmbracelet. I just started trying to write in English about 4 months ago, but I could go all out for Mariah and give her another Butterfly / The Roof
I wrote a song for Mariah once. Let me find it and post it for you all tonight...
I was listening to Outside on repeat last night. I just felt so lonely and depressed and that song spoke to me in so many ways; more than it usually does.
Do you all think there will be a new album this year?
No, not really. The revised #1s is all we're going to get, but I feel like she will start working on new music for a possible 2016 release

You shouldn't Her label did a good job with #B initially, but then they screwed up the actual album campaign / era a year later, so it's not like staying with them would be a much better plan. At least she's starting fresh
