Yep. It just comes with age and experience. I remember my first job at 18, I had to call someone up, and my manager was like "it's ok, I'll sit next to you and coach you through it." It was the most daunting thing in my life. As a kid, I always used to get my parents to call my friends parents to ask if their child would like to come over to hang out with me, or go to the movies with me. Anyway, my voice shook the entire time, I said "sorry, it's my first day on the job" and at the end before I had even hung up I was like "ughh sorry...sorry" and the guy on the other end just laughed and was like "it's alright mate."
My manager was like "that was bad. That was really, really bad. Don't say it's your first day. Stop apologising. Just calm down. Breathe. Relax. It's not that big of a deal."
Anyway, now I pick up the phone with ease and have a lot of confidence in the way I speak and carry myself. Like I said, it just comes with age and life experience. Especially when it comes to meeting new people and making new friends.
I'm confident, if I want something I get it. If a problem is presented to me, I get a 'can do' feeling and attack it. I might not solve it but I never go in feeling I can't. If I can't I ask for help, which takes confidence.
Yes, because no one would be confident for me except for myself.
I do believe that confidence should be possessed by everyone. I think what makes a person truly confident is when one is very open to failures. Appreciating the good things together with the bad ones would build up self-strength and esteem.
I'm slowly working on it, I became more confident lately and I have been working on my confidence since summer 2014! Must be because of the same location and people that takes me so long, but im getting there!
