what i'm saying is that ARTPOP should be compared to LAP because it was her fourth release, released at similar times in their careers. it shows how at this point in her career madonna kept getting bigger, more acclaimed whereas with gaga the opposite is happening. if ARTPOP wasn't good enough then gaga should be criticized for that
you said it yourself, you can't compare rebel heart or any of madonna's recent releases to anything gaga's released because gaga hasn't been around for 30 years or had 13 albums yet gaga fans still do

Yes, she can be called the Queen of Pop. That's an arbitrary label that means absolutely nothing. You Madonna fans take that label way too damn seriously as if you own it.

Nope. LAP sold 15,000,000 WW. The album after that, Erotica, sold less than half of that: 6,000,000. A huge decline, just like Gaga is seeing.
After Erotica, Bedtime Stories sold 7,000,000 WW. A larger number than Erotica but still not as big as Like A Prayer. It wasn't until Ray of Light that Madonna began selling huge numbers again, this time 20,000,000.
This means that it took Madonna TWO whole eras to start selling the same amount again, yet you don't afford Gaga that same chance. You say because ARTPOP didn't sell well, she's over. That makes you a hypocrite, no? Shouldn't you have to wait until the next era before you start calling Gaga "over" and "irrelevant" since you're bringing up Madonna's sales?
BTW, after Ray of Light, Madonna never saw sales close to 20,000,000 ever again.
