I hope this doesn't piss any of you off since I'm just giving my opinion but there's just something so blah about Britney. Circus is good, don't get me wrong, but the more I listen to it, the more it sounds dated to me. Now I'm starting to understand why Lady GaGa is being called "the future of pop," because Britney's pop-dance is sounding kind of stale and it hasn't evolved a whole lot musically in her ten years except for upping the sex factor. Madonna even had enough good sense to venture into new areas, even though it's yielded an equal amount of hits and misses. But with Britney...it's all gotten sort of clinical with all the pro songwriters trying too hard to maximize profit instead of keeping it spontaneous or fun like it used to be.
I know a lot of you idolize her,and I mean, I idolize Katy Perry even though I have no good reason for it, so it's not like I'm trying to convince you not to like Britney--but you've got to admit, it's sad when your best years are already behind you at the age of 27. Madonna was already 15 years older than that by the time her heyday eclipsed. I mean, Britney doesn't have custody of her own children...she doesn't even have custody of herself! She's not entirely to blame for that, but I do think it's kind of sad that people are worshipping her when she's hardly even involved with the persona you've all fallen so hard in love with. It's a little unhealthy. "Unusual You" and a few other new songs of hers are fresh and great, and since her dancing isn't as precise or top-notch as it used to be, she should probably try moving into newer territories that don't require as elaborate or as much dancing as she used to do. It's time to face facts and let GaGa and the newcomers be the pop queens of the next generation--Madonna accepted that long ago and the difference between her and Brit is she doesn't need to be anybody else's cash cow anymore, she's already her own empire. Again, these are just my thoughts...

You know better than that, Bob. Britney had 3 years of nightmares, you can't expect her to come back as fresh as she used to be. You cannot compare GaGa to Britney right now due to many circumstances. It's normal for you to like The Fame more than Circus, but yet again, you can't say 'Britney's over'. You have to praise her; she's been throught A LOT. GaGa is still new.
I used to think you're something big in this forum.

Where did Bobby say Britney is over? He said her best years are behind her ( In the Zone). There is a difference.
Anyway... I hate to bump this ridiculous stan war but...

No, not entirely, but I agree on some points that sahn made right there.
But whatever, Britney is still the best FOR ME.

Well I didn't mean to stir the pot but Britney stans on this forum generally claim they're better than Beyonce stans and yet I came to this thread two days ago and noticed how you all hijacked this thread even though there was no cause for it. I'm a casual Britney fan, but I think she's overhyped. Usually that's not an issue for me, but when people have to manipulate Madonna threads back into Britney threads, that's where I draw the line.
And Louie, you've always been cool to me, and I remember you voted for me as most prestigious ATRL member which was really flattering, but just because I have a slightly critical opinion of Britney or her supporters shouldn't mean you'd think any less of me. That's not cool.

I know, I know. But the problem is, you know how it goes around in here. You are very right on some parts, but haters are going to take them (including Beyonce's etc). We Britney fans love Britney more than we should.
Anyways, don't mind. I didn't think less of you, I was just confused. Xoxo.
