Let me start this off by saying I am a white person and I honestly don't feel offended or hurt by stereotypes people make of white people. In fact, I find them funny and true most of the time, and most definitely playful and harmless

But what bothers me is that people think they can do that, yet if you make black or Asian or Latino stereotypes, you are an evil cishet white person that needs to check their privilege!

Stereotypes used to be seen as harmless and fun, but for some reason this young Tumblr influenced generation has this sentiment of "white people are evil and must be made fun of at all costs! POC are all good people and if you make fun of them then you're bad!"

It's just pathetic. What are your thoughts on this issue?

Because POC stereotypes can actually affect their lives. For example, hispanics being seen as illegal can lead to profiling even if they are citizens. Black people being seen as lazy can affect job opportunities. White people and their lack of seasoning can affect their....umm....oh wait.

It's a simple concept really.

It's one of the biggest double standards in the world.

2 words come to mind: ignorant and hypocritical

It's just like when people(regardless of color, usually black people though) get mad that a white person said "n***a" in the same way black people say it. Nobody owns the word

Stereotypes can be extremely funny to see in person, but nobody should be "exempt" from stereotypes. They exist. I'm not evening to name any. I think we all have some of the same thoughts come to mind when we think of the stereotypes for each race

This and white people stereotypes aren't rude but funny.

white stereotypes: can't dance, jump, etc.

Asian stereotypes : small penis, can't drive, smell like fish, etc.

Mexican stereotypes : dirty, illegal, diabetes, etc.

Black stereotypes : violent, awful parents, warfare, etc.
