Winehouse New Music "Too Dark And Reggae" For Label
Amy Winehouse has reportedly been instructed to re-write songs for new album, at the request of her record label.
The singer is said to be working hard on her third LP, now she has returned to the UK - but according to an insider - the label are less than thrilled with her change in musical direction.
"Amy was very productive during her stay in St Lucia. She wrote a hell of a lot of songs, but the majority of them just aren't hitting the mark." A source tells The Sun.
"She seems to have ditched her trademark vintage soul sound and is now heavily influenced by reggae." Claims the spy. "Her bosses don't think it's a wise move to change her style so sharply and have told her that."
"The lyrics are very dark indeed. While she's known for her confessional style and has been very successful with it, many of the tracks are near the knuckle."
I've been on Winehouse withdrawal for too long. I don't care what direction she's going in (as long as it's not country; that'd be a problem ) as long as she releases something soon.
Island Records have brushed off claims that they rejected new material by Amy Winehouse.
A newspaper reported suggested the label were not happy with newly penned tracks for her third record, which is said to have a strong reggae influence.
It was said that the troubled singer had been told to re-write the songs, but according to a spokesmen for Island that isn't the case.
"It's absolutely not true." The rep told London Lite.
NONONO, this my most anticipated album this year. Back to black was just so amazing, the only bad thing is that all the album makes me think about my ex-girlfriend , and I broke up with her yesterday.
