The whole "social media is keeping us on our computers and phones instead of going outside and meeting with our friends in real life" has always confused me. Do people really do that?
Everyone I know, or am at least connected with, seems to use Facebook in a beneficial way. It helps me become more friendly with people online, actively interacting with people and chatting in group chats, and that allows me to make plans and go out more than I would without Facebook. I don't know people who actually use Facebook as a substitute for meeting people in real life. Am I just not seeing it? I really can't comprehend it being that detrimental to people.
