Time is a social construct and does not have the same meaning to everyone and everyone does not experience time the same way. So time is relative. It could be said time is just an illusion.
Ever been in a class looking at the clock and thinking that this last 15 minutes seems like an hour?
How about when you are having fun and time flies by so fast you can't believe it’s time to go?
Ever lose track of time at the computer and think my god where did those 3 hours go?
These are real examples of how time is perceived differently by the brain in various situations.
Space time is different and large masses curve it. Large spinning masses such as the earth distort space time and dragging it along or frame-dragging. If the universe was created in a big bang then the space time as we know it did not always exist. I believe there was other space either in other dimensions or other universes.
