She tells Mojo magazine, "He's a crazy person. I never met him. I never considered working with him. I don't know where he got that idea. It's possible somebody brought his name along with a million other names to me as people to write with. But I never stopped at his name, considered him and then said no."
i like ariel pink's music despite him being the textbook definition of a problematic fave, but he deserved to be dragged to the pits & back for his stupid ass comments.
While he's an asshole for the things he said, I find it hard to believe neither Madonna not her team ever approached him, and he just pulled it all from his ass.
He said that her recent output (well, the last two decades) is trash. Is he a misogynist for stating his opinion?
Quote:
"Interscope are calling me to help write Madonna’s record," Pink said. "They need something edgy. They need songwriting. She can’t just have her Avicii, her producers or whatever, come up with a new techno jam for her to gyrate to and pretend that she's 20 years old. They actually need songs. I'm partly responsible for that return-to-values thing."
it feels like his comments were somewhat rooted in being misogynistic.
