Are Grammys really White?
Nicki Minaj shared that 'Why Grammys are as white as you think'
Plenty of black artists win/has won grammys.
just because Macklemore won over Kendrick and Iggy getting nominated makes the Grammys Racist ?
Didn't Macklemore had 2 #1s and his album sold more Globally a feat. that Kendrick didn't have.
&
Didn't Nicki Minaj got nominated in her Debut keeping in mind that she didn't had a #1 song like Iggy Azalea ?
Grammys also see Success not only Flow.
Fact:
Beyoncé have 17
Kanye West have 21
Jay-Z have 19
so Are Grammys really white ?

They definitely favor "white" music and tend to snub rap and hip hop albums. Kanye and Jay-Z have probably won most of their Grammys in the rap categories, which, let's be real, are not primarily categories where white people are nominated. The fact that Kanye does not have an AOTY is a huge snub.

genre specific categories =/= general categories
success =/= quality
The fact that Iggy is even nominated for rap categories is an insult, so is the fact that Sam Smith got any major nods

Nope. They're only using that excuse for obvious reasons.

this , i mean there are lots of POC in the academy that vote not just white people , its just some times they have a lapse in judgement of taste - e.g kendrick vs mack
i think that laspe was caused since mack had bigger commercial success , coupled with the fact that even in other academy like the oscars the voters dont always listen/watch the nominees they just vote.
another fact to add to the OP is that the second most won grammys is to Quincy Jones

Is that so?
Iggy getting a nomination for rap was an insult to the rap industry, no matter how you look at it.

The point is that these artists are almost always limited to rap or R&B awards. The fact that they rarely nominate Kanye in the general field, let alone award him there, is very telling. I'm pretty sure Beyoncé has only one general field win too, and she is rarely nominated in the pop fields despite how much pop music she has also released.
I swear to god/Louis, if Sam Smith wins AOTY over Bey...

The fact that Beyonce, Jay-Z, Ray Charles, Aretha Franklin, Stevie Wonder, Quincy Jones, and Kanye, all black artists, have won SO many, (sometimes undeservingly), pretty much proves that they aren't racist.

but sis the grammys are at the core about "recognizing outstanding achievement in the music industry". the achievement doesnt always have to be critical acclaim , i mean iggy did help further push urban to the forefront of last years music scene.

woo lord, if Grammys didn't have genre specific categories like Oscars, I wonder what song you would all sing.

We'll find out in two weeks. I'm telling you, there will be an upset if Bey doesn't win. And then Iggy wins for rap album... y'all already saw the amount of hate there was in the media when Macklemore won last year. Watch it happen again.
---
But in other news I'm going through last year's Grammy thread to see what it was like cuz I missed it. Just found this gif though of Lorde performing during the Grammy nom concert

And they've all won most of if not all of those in their respective categories and not general fields where they should have won (B'Day, MBDTF, WTT, etc.)

Does she realize that only about 12.6% population of the US is black? If I can do ratios properly, that would make the stats she posted completely useless (read: not proving anything)

But her album is considered hip-hop/rap and she's had a successful year?
