First, I love the Black Eyed Peas. That band was one of those that 6 years ago put me into music. I started listen to music when they were starting with Fergie. When beats like Let's Get It Started and Where Is The Love? sounded sooo incredible. I loved them unconditionally since then and I own Elephunk and Monkey Business. All their videos are incredible and on the stage they are more than excellent performers.
But, some weeks ago, when I listened to Boom Boom Pow, I was quiet disapointed. It is not bad, but it's obvious that they wanted to emmulate the success of Lil Wayne or Kanye West, adding their vocals and energy to the auto-tune. That style that characterizes them is what i miss in this song, it just doesn't fit on them and the lyrics are repetitive, needless and no-sense. The song lasts 4 minutes but seems like 8 long minutes with the same unnecesary words. I'm sure they didn't choose the right first single.
I like it SOMETIMES but I really wish they surprise us with other songs on The E.N.D.. I will support them always. I hope the video brings something interesting to watch.
