R8:
- would be an album mixed with different genres, with songs that connect to one another in terms of sound/emotion/theme. i think 45S should be either the first or last song. the album should be about growing up and maturing after hitting rock bottom. how rih improved herself, how she found focus, how she came to remember the important things in life, how she navigates the pitfalls of her relationships, etc.
essentially an album outlining the late-20's experience, but still relatable to people of all ages. for example: 45S is about trying to finding faith and happiness when you're unsure of yourself
promo plan:
- Upload the 45S audio video onto her VEVO page and put the song on spotify this tuesday.
- Maybe plan a few radio interviews for this week... announce R8's title and release date the week before the Grammy's
- Performance at the Grammy's, but it's all about HER not Kanye or Paul. She is front and center, singing her heart out while they back her up. I doubt this is possible (they'll probably perform Only One before she joins them) but it would be ideal in my mind.
- Perform 45S on Letterman the week after the Grammy's
- Release the album on February 24 if she wants to get it out of the way. Make the promo about growing up, make sure she's reiterating the ideas outlined above. Coincidentally all of the promo would take place the weeks before/during/after her birthday
OR
Release R8 in April with the exact same promo plan
- Performance at The BRITS
- END OF 45S ERA! Let radios play it out until it's dead
- Give HOME the appropriate time it deserves. Make sure Rih is well-rested and pleasant during her promo run.
- Upload "A Night" to her VEVO page and send it to radio in early March
- Upload the music video two-three weeks after the song premieres
Ideally the HOME album won't be promoted much, but simply talked about a lot. It should be mentioned in all of her major HOME interviews like "Oh you recorded music for this movie, what was that like" "A lot of censoring! hehe." Nothing beyond that! No single, no promo for the album.
Give her a solid week and a half to recover after the HOME media blitz. Then get out there and promote R8. For HOME she should visit Ellen, Jimmy Kimmel, and The Daily Show. For R8 she should visit The Breakfast Club, Jimmy Fallon, and GMA.
Beyond the spring she'll have opportunities to perform at Billboard Awards, iHeartRadio awards, that iHeartRadio festival thingy, BET Awards, etc.
Announce a WW tour with North American opener Big Sean/DJ Mustard, European opener Kiesza, and Oceania/Asian opener Charli XCX
