Due to the impending blizzard in the Northeast and statewide travel bans, WWE has postponed tonight’s live event in Hartford and cancelled tomorrow night’s live event in Boston; however, WWE will emanate live at 8 p.m. ET from its Stamford headquarters.
Ticket Information: Hartford, Conn., XL Center: Tickets for tonight’s show in Hartford will be honored for a SmackDown event this Thursday, January 29 that will air live on Syfy. Boston, Mass., TD Garden: Fans with tickets to tomorrow’s event in Boston will have the option of either exchanging tickets for an upcoming WWE event on Saturday, June 27 or obtaining a refund at point of purchase. From one historic night to another, WWE will be on the air tonight, broadcasting live under extraordinary circumstances from WWE TV studios in Stamford, Conn., in never-before-seen fashion. But what does this unorthodox evening hold in store?
Following Roman Reigns’ victory in the Royal Rumble Match last night, The Road to WrestleMania was supposed to begin in earnest with the first, post-Rumble Raw. Unforeseen weather complications and a statewide travel ban have thrown a wrench into the proceedings, however. We know WWE will broadcast live at 8 p.m. ET on USA Network, but less certain is who will be participating in the evening’s proceedings, and who was waylaid by Mother Nature.
I think (though I may be mistaken) that it was because of the live nature of the show. Since it was on a bit late at night and it was completely live, the idea was that the action you saw on it was "raw," or as the first Raw tagline used to say: "Uncensored, Uncut, Uncooked."
