Like I feel like you would've cried had you gotten eliminated. Even in your speech, you were like "this competition helped me find out who I am" Like.... it's just an ATRL game.

I still applaud Giselle's effort with the comeback series I would've NEVER submitted a quick guide for that tbh, way too lazy.

I hate to say it, but there was a lack of charisma with the entire top three. Where was the anticipation? The excitement? It was kinda like everyone was just waiting to see who won.
|
g;d;f this is so true.
It was basically just 2 others sitting and making time pass by before we got to announcing Citrus' win.

This season was some what divided between newbies and veterans, made up of not so much known members and well known members, and by this time in the competition we had a house divided. But the drama didn't phase this next contestant, a dark horse in his own right, lets welcome Element!

ATRL’s author, and newbie to Top Member! How does it feel on your first try getting to the top 5?
Hi Drip! It feels AMAZING to have made it to the top 5. You are really deep, deep into the competition at that point, and it was great to be there with the other four quarter-finalists.
I admit I didn’t expect you to get this far with members like Cupid, Jax, and Rated G here I thought you were going to be an early exist, why do you think you made it this far?
I will admit the same, honestly! The competition this cycle was fierce; so many of the members were well-known, dedicated contenders, and I think many of them had the potential to go all the way. When the competition started, I didn't think it would be my time to shine, really. As I explained in my exit speech, I entered the competition at the last minute, due to an infamous Matty delay. I was originally hoping to watch this cycle, get a lay of the land, and then join Cycle 13. But, I guess Cycle 12 was meant for me, and I applied on a whim just before the deadline!
Once the competition began, I fell into the middle/lower section of the rankings; by the fourth round, I was resigned to what I thought was an inevitable elimination by round six or so. Something wasn't clicking, and I just wasn't presenting myself in the best way possible. Once I landed in the bottom two, I turned things around and really pushed myself to come up with stronger entries. After this sparking moment, I was able to turn in top tier entries for a few rounds, and I am definitely proud of myself for doing so!
TL;DR: I was not expecting to get so far, but once I landed in the bottom, I was inspired to push harder and launch myself farther.
You were often put in this “floater” category, do you think that holds true? What do you have to say to those that think you were a non-factor?
To an extent, it does. I feel like I am "floating" in my real life right now. I am very unsure of what my passions are, and what I want to do as a career. I feel like I have no direction, and it's rather annoying. I think a lot of this negative subconscious energy came through in my earlier ANTM entries. I am sure that I will find myself more over time... I am expecting good things out of 2015, so hopefully I will know more about myself by the end of this year! However, once I get my head on straight, I think I am a force to be reckoned with, as demonstrated by my GIF, Upgrade & Musicality entries. To those who think I was a non-factor: THANK YOU, because it's important to be aware of others' perceptions of yourself. I need to understand why I'm not making an impact on certain people, re-evaluate that aspect of myself, and enhance it to become a better person. Not change who I am, but push harder and keep fighting back. I am going to continue to build myself on this forum, and I will be more and more notable as time goes on, hopefully.
Do you think maybe you could have just pushed a LITTLE bit more?
Absolutely. In the earlier rounds, I allowed myself to skate by without making an impact. I should have approached those challenges from a different angle and I think I could have done a lot better. I do have to say that I thought my Build-A-Challenge entry, which resulted in my elimination, was actually really good, in my opinion. I don't think I could have pushed any harder on that one. I thought it was a practical challenge, which evaluated important aspects of being an ATRL member from an interesting and creative perspective. So, I don't know what else I could have done to have prevented my elimination, per se.
You were basically in the clique with Citrus vs. iHype and Vespertine how did it feel to be in that drama?
That mess shouldn't have even happened! Lol.
All I know is that Citrus and I have been great friends for a long time here, since he took part in the smash tournament, The Author (of which you were the runner-up! woo!). He is a great person to chat with, and he offered me encouragement since the very beginning of the cycle. He wanted me to sign up really badly, and he was my support system throughout the competition, especially in the rougher early rounds. When I was receiving controversial responses for my username entry, for example, he told me to keep my head high and stay strong through the drama. On the other hand, I don't know iHype and Vespertine too well. That's partially my fault, I'm sure, as I haven't specifically reached out to them and struck up a conversation.
So basically, when that drama happened, it was just friends sticking up for each other, and that's bound to happen when we are asked to rank people's potential, you know? Drama happens. I don't like drama that much. Despite being on ATRL, home of dragging, stan wars, and receipts, I really don't enjoy conflict. In real life, I strive to avoid it. I like people, I like procuring positive relationships, and I like getting along. So, that drama was unfortunate, but ultimately it shows people who are truly dedicated to themselves and their good friends. I have no ill will towards iHype or Vespertine, and I know they don't either towards us.
Do we hope to see Element in the next Top Member Cycle?
In Cycle 13, probably not, but after that, we will have to see how the wind is blowing! I think, one day, yes, you will see me around here again.
Thanks for the questions, Drip! And thanks to everyone for reading!

Element is too nice. I would have liked him to drag Vespertine. He's vented in my PM box, I know how he feels about him getting to the finale.

I still don't even know what clique you're talking about DripDrip Do you mean the drama during the most/least potential bit? I was absent for most of it.

I don't think we've ever had an elimination quite as shocking as our next contestants. He was pegged as a fan favorite, brought in some controversy, and even some STD's. Please welcome iHype to set the record straight on his feelings about what all went down!
Quote:
So most can say you were probably the most outspoken contestant this whole cycle and a lot of people had bets on you winning, how do you think this whole experience worked out?
It worked out good, until the ending ofcourse. I think I was suppose to be @ the finale, but whatevs hihi. I know Citrus would've won either way. Lots of people didn't even expect me to slay that much anyways, and I love proving people wrong + having them mad. Especially the highlight was when I used 'two already made GIFs' for two rounds that got people riled and protesting my entry, yet I managed Top 3 both times.
A lot of people said you shouldn’t be here because you already had such a following and impact on ATRL do you think that hurt your chances?
A few of the judges said that it wasn't a bum point, so I don't think them saying it really hurt me. But at the end of the day, when the judges were deciding who made the final cut I think that had a lot to do with it. I think they probably thought I didn't take anything out the competition, nor would gain anything from winning -- which was probably true, honestly.
You clashed with a lot of different house guest, do you have anything to say to any of the contestants?
Lots of people don't like me on the site period, yet I'm still popular and well-liked by others so I don't care lol. I didn't care when they disliked me during the season, so there's no reason to now.
There was a big Citrus vs. iHype thing going on this cycle with Citrus representing the more “nice, friendly, and sweet” side and you representing the “shady, abrasive, and loud” side of ATRL, what are your thoughts on this feud?
I was just being myself, and not trying to put on an act during the show (not neccesarily saying Citrus did that). At the end of the day, 90% of this site is bitchy, catty, and drag!!111 as ever. Trying to act innocent and helpful is so dumb, Everyone including Citrus has shown that side many times. The difference is I didn't try to act like it wasn't there. I'd say the judges appreciated it with me getting Top 5 on Branding for 'Insensitive' and having most judges start to take notice to me the first time that season.
Your elimination was probably the most shocking of the entire cycle, with many thinking you were going to win the challenge and ended up losing. Do you think your elimination was still fair? Are you still bitter about this?
It wasn't fair, 'cus the reasons were pits & I didn't have the worse performance nor the worst thread so there wasn't a reason. Matty said I went because they pitted me against Vespertine as who they'd want to win, which has nothing to do with the challenge nor my overall performance (I was only 2 points behind him in overall points that season, and would've surpassed him if my thread that was bigger than all the other threads combined was graded). I'm not bitter though, as said above -- Citrus would've won either way.
Do you think with everything that went down do you feel like there needs to be changes in Top Member?
Um, some changes with judges + challenges! But that's pretty obvious, and likely to not be done. But if you have clear + known bias towards players you shouldn't be a judge. Why mess with scores and hard work? Definitely messed up + the main reason I'd never play again. Clear bias that throws all your overall work and nevermind the work for the challenge at hand, straight out the window after working hard on it is a slap to the face + the game it's self.
Supa basically admitted to saying he had it out against you, do you feel like that caused an unfair advantage to other contestants?
No comment on him.
Do you agree with the choice of top member?
Yes. Citrus was the overall best player according to scores, and the fan favorite. It is what is.
