LoL! I think accepting it really is key. it's definitely an acquired taste. I was just caught off guard. I love indie music. I still hope it smashes though, I need the album regardless.
About the video, I wouldn't be surprised if it's black & white with nothing but Paul & his guitar and her & Kanye with their mics. I'd be here for that though because of the vibe of the song.
Paul McCartney is at his worst for several decades tho. 99% of his solo projects are just tragic. But tbh, most of his solo written Beatles songs aint that good either with a few exceptions like the brilliant Eleanor Rigby.
I agree, I can hardly finish listenin to his albums but this is worse than all that. its so bad. sounds like rejected demo. and hopin it will go well jus cuz of rihanna's radio support is offensive. I feel bad for riri fans forced to listenin to it and pretendin to like it. id ditch my fave ina second.
She's making a statement against corporate pop. You'll all get your melodyned, run-of-the-mill Urban radio bops and pop ballads soon enough. If this were polished with a beat, it'd be mediocre at best, but as is, it's pretty enjoyable. It reminds me of Tuesday Night Music Club, except for Kanye and his 808s-esque, useless contribution.
First time listening to this, and I'm not feeling it tbh. BUT, it's a nice change of pace for Rihanna and she is actually at the point where she should be able to experiment with her sound.
It should grow on me soon though.

It's a minimalist song. These cloud her intent, even the jazzy one (that's really busy). It's supposed to sound like a demo. That's the point. I don't think she wants it remixed.

All I hear is folk in the verses and somewhat gospel in the chorus.
