The movie was fantastic. Im neither American or white but the story still translated to something that I could relate and latch on to. Coopers performances was nothing extraordinary, but he definitely did justice to the role he was given.

yeah, no, the film is not propaganda at all.

The only thing that seems to be off is that based on what people have read from the book Chris Kyle really enjoyed being a sniper, which is certainly not the case in the film. I don't know why ya'll are so angry about the success, the film does not glorify his title or killing.

American Sniper is at $200 million right now. Before the end of February it'll beat Mockingjay in becoming the biggest film released in 2014. Just wow.

I didn't see the movie as "American Propaganda" as everyone keeps on saying. I saw it, though I'm of course just basing this off of my own opinion, as if the movie were showcasing Kyle and the Iraqi sniper to be quite analogous. The other sniper was quite skilled, just like Kyle was, but he was also a man that had a family, as shown briefly in one scene. I would go into it much further but I don't want to spend ten years explaining this properly as I have an exam tomorrow that I've yet to study for, but I saw it the film as an attempt to showcase how the were both two similar men, who could have even been friends in different circumstances, that were forced to be stripped of their human identity to the opposing side while being caught up in the ruination that is war.

Or I'm completely wrong.
