Anybody else besides me watching the World Baseball Classic this year. I'm pulling for Puerto Rico to win it this year.

Everyone still shocked about the Netherlands beating team Dominican Republic again yesterday. It was a good game last night, that definately is a huge upset in baseball history.

Japan will repeat most likely. Congrats to the Netherlands for beating the Dominican Republic TWICE, the first time was a shocking, the second time was more shocking.

I am. That DR-Netherlands last night was simply incredible. Of course, the Netherlands are going to get completely smoked out of the water in the next round...

Obviously, I'm pulling for the U.S. to win it, no matter how unlikely it is..

Who would have thought that the DR full of mostly major league players would get beaten, not once but twice, by a team with only 1 current major league player and 2 former players. Their most famous player is Sidney Ponson. I have no idea how the DR was incapable of scoring a run against some below average pitchers for 10 straight innings. Shows you that money can't buy you wins. Every major league player on the DR makes more money than the entire Netherlands team. The entire Netherlands team is only worth 400k. The DR should be embarrassed from this loss. Congrats to the Netherlands. Part of me now wants them to beat the other overpaid team, but unfortunately I live in that country so I have to root for the US.

I'm totally pulling for the Netherlands. The US played like **** against Canada and their collapse against Venezuela shows to me they may not escape the Second Round grouping especially as they open against Puerto Rico - total loss there - and then face elimination against a Netherlands team that would love to ruin another country's chances.

The Netherlands are garbage. They had absolutely no business winning either game against the DR. Their lineup is an embarrassment, and they'll get slaughtered in Round 2.

Also, how did the USA "collapse" against Venezuela? They never lead, and the loss can be pinned on one pitcher (Guthrie).

Finally, how is "Puerto Rico" a total loss? They absolutely abused Venezuela a couple of days ago, and they could definitely do the same to Rico...

I am pulling for Team USA. The Dutch/Curacao team shocked the world twice.

If they are garbage, I wonder what the Dominican Republic team is because they certainly played like garbage (if not worse than that). Seriously scoring nothing in 10 innings against the Netherlands is quite an embarrassment. It was basically a major league team playing a single-A team and the single-A team winning twice. So maybe we should be talking about how the overpaid Dominican Republic team was garbage. People thought they would get slaughtered in round 1 so they may prove you wrong again.

Bingo. The DR were THE favorites to win it all, no questions asked. I think it's more about the Netherlands being a lot better as a team than anyone could have anticipated than anything else. To assume that they're "garbage" is just unfair, considering that they also gave Puerto Rico a tough time the first time they played. They're legit, and they're going to put a REAL scare into the rest of the competition.

At this moment, I've got Puerto Rico winning it all, or Japan repeating, but, as the Netherlands proved, anything can happen.

u know what ... i heard that the Netherlands are doing amazing... i think it was the netherlands or some country that normally doesn't stand out for baseball... 2012 anyone ? ? ?

Netherlands vs. USA today

A special part of me is pulling for the Netherlands this game especially after last night's USA game where the mercy rule was invoked after the USA was down by 10 after 7 innings to Puerto Rico.

Lets just think about it this way. The Netherlands only gave up 3 runs when they first faced Puerto Rico (despite losing the game). The USA gives up 11 and gets mercied. I am quite scared for the USA tonight.

So it seems the USA actually showed up against the Netherlands. The USA lives on to face the loser of Puerto Rico and Venezuela. I'm betting on that being Venezuela.

It definately would have been an even huger upset if the Netherlands eliminated the USA, that would have been all over ESPN. But I knew the USA was going to win. I also agree, USA will probably face Venezuela next, Team Puerto Rico is just on fire, they haven't lost once yet so far. I'm pulling for PR to win it all. Would love it if The USA and PR met in the final round but I don't think it will happen. I have a feeling Korea or Japan is going to make it to the final round and probably end up against PR or USA.

USA comes back from 2 down in the 9th to beat Puerto Rico. David Wright gets walkoff hit. Fantastic ending. Next up, Venezuela.

What a game. Even though I wanted PR to win I'm glad David Wright got the winning hit for Team USA. David Wright is definately the best 3rd baseman in baseball. Can't wait for the season to begin. The Mets dominated this game. Beltran made an awesome catch as well, Delgado hit a 2 run homer, and JJ Putz pitched solid today. The Mets are definately on fire. I can't wait for the season to start. I'll be pulling for Team USA now since PR is eliminated.

Team USA should dominated the Hugo Chavez-owned Venezuela NT.

Well Korea eliminated Venezuela 10-2 last night. Tonight the USA vs. Japan, the winner will meet Korea for the Championship tomorrow night. Can't wait to watch, the game starts in a few minutes. I hope Team USA wins it.
