Don't know if "Forgive Me " was written for Leona or not. Don't care. It doesn't really matter.

The lyrics don't neccesarily make a song a great uptempo, the production ultimately does. Akon really soft-peddaled his production for Leona, imho. If he had really gone hard on the production, I think it might cause problems because of her vocal style. Forgive Me is as "soft" an uptempo as it's possible to make.

I honestly don't believe Akon would have given that specific production to anybody but Leona. He must be as aware of her limtations as everybody else. There's a reason the production on that song resembles almost nothing else he's done before (and Akon's production style is about as recognisable as Timbaland's and The Neptunes). Seriously, "Forgive Me" could have been produced by some random guy from Sweeden, it's that bland. Akon really neutered his own style to work with Leona.

I can't wait for Alexandra's work. She will be big.

Sweet Escape ? BTW, I'm not aware of Leona's "limitations" as you put it how can you determine someone's limitations after one song generic uptempos might not be her bread and butter but you can't say she can't pull them off.

Forgive Me sounds on par with what akon normally does which is mediocre, middle of the road R&B.

I've determined Leona's "limitations" after following her career for close to 2 years, and watching all her performances on X-Factor. She sounded like she was in a coma when she sang "Lady Marmalade" on X-Factor. Really the dullest rendition of that song I've seen. No attitude, no nothing. Her weakness at uptempos was apparent long before "Forgive Me".

Maybe one day, she'll prove me and others wrong. Till then, I'm sticking with my assertion that she's poor at uptempos. She has trouble selling them. It doesn't matter how great her voice is.

The defensiveness of Leona Stans is getting ridiculous. She's a great ballad/mid-tempo singer. Why not simply be happy with that. Instead, the rest of the world is supposed to pretend that she's some amazing all-rounder, so as to not risk the wrath of Leona fans.

I didn't lose anything buddy, you go around calling people stans then get all butt hurt when the same "insult" is thrown your way. You treat your opinion as a fact so it's hard to argue anything but if that equals to a "lost argument" then so be it. "Winning" an argument on the internet is a major accomplishment,congratulations .

I actually wasn't bothered by being called an "Alexandra Stan". No big deal. Didn't hurt me or insult me in the least. I took it as a harmless thing, as I assume anyone being called a "Leona Stan" wouldn't think it's an insult.

To me the "childish insult" was saying "you a are full of s***".

When people have to start directing swear words at others, it's just a sign of desperation. You asked for an explaination as to why I believe Leona has limitations, and I gave you one (I generalised about Leona Stans, but that wasn't personal (and stan/fan is the same thing to me). Yours was. Your reply was uncalled for, but that's my opinion (as is mostly everything else I've said. Do I really need to pre-face every single statement with "IMHO" for people to work out that most of what I say is my own individual judgement, and not to be taken as gospel? Whether people choose to agree or disagree with what I say, is their buisness. But it's MY OPINION).

I agree once again on everything Cro-Magnon has said except that Forgive Me sounds just like Sweet Escape by Gwen Stefani. Otherwise yes, Leona is incredibly weak at uptempos.... Misses Glass being her best. I'm watching Lady Marmalade now and damn this was AWFUL..... maybe a different uptempo would work for her but that damn sure isn't it.

We will see what Akon & Alexandra cook up..... I hope its good cuz I'm not a fan of Akon at all.

Akon is so stale now. What is his sound? He doesn't have one right now because he's just biting all the euro-pop tunes Anyway I hope she comes out with a great first single.
