The Isis militant group is reportedly launching its own online TV channel, featuring a series from the British hostage John Cantlie and a weekly programme called “Time to Recruit”.
The teaser video first emerged on Isis supporters’ forums and was unearthed by the news website Vocativ. It said the “Time to Recruit” programme was being billed as a more structured effort to encourage young Muslims to join the militant group’s ranks, and that it would broadcast on Wednesday at 5pm “Islamic State Time”.
Do you think John Cantlie is forced to do that did he join them?
I don't know. But ISIS do have a "Do this or I'll kill you" mentality, so it's possible he was forced to do it...
This is very sad. I'm for freedom of speech and everything, but this is sad because it's going to end up recruiting more people to ISIS. Those people who join ISIS will ruin their own lives, and ruin many other people's lives too.
They are really good in propaganda. But one nuke will wipe 'em all.
It's not that simple unfortunately.
I hear people suggesting to destroy the entire Middle East, but we can't do that as millions of innocent people will die, it'd be worse than the Holocaust. At the moment they're doing air strikes, which are good imo as they can target ISIS and have as few innocent people dying as possible. But more needs to be done to stop ISIS completely, and they've got followers in Africa and Europe too, so it's more complicated than a simple nuke.
Cantlie has been producing a series called "Lend Me Your Ears" in which he reads ISIS propaganda criticizing Western politicians and government. So this is nothing new for him.
He is definitely speaking under duress, though. Just like Foley, Sotloff, Haines, etc.
