I was kind of promiscuous in my late teens/early 20s. After a bad relationship I didn't have it in me to give myself anymore. Until this past year where I found someone who I really love. And they love me.

Until I found out they cheated on me.

I see a text message with his friend talking about how he gave mutual head to someone else and really liked them, and he doesn't know what to do, but I bug him.

He doesn't start to talk about feeling bad about it for a week, then proceeds to come to the conclusion he loves me and only wants me...but he hides it from me.

Knowing that I know now, he assures me it was a mistake and he'll never do it again. He says his motive for cheating was "based on looks"....

What should I do? I feel God awful. I want to keep trying, but I don't want to be hurt again.

**** that, if all it took for him to cheat was "looks" then he's a shallow **** and you need to get your ass away. Why wouldn't he do it again if he meets someone even better looking who's eager and you're not around?

Try your best to move on, some people are meant to have a cameo in your life and others are meant to have supporting/lead roles. You deserve better and he's ****. Don't give up.

I say it's up to you. ATRLers might all say to get rid of him and that he'd do it again - others might say to give him the benefit of the doubt. Talk to him more if this is really something you want to work out, and make your decision based on that. If it's a maturity issue and you don't see it being fixed, then maybe move on, even if it's temporarily. If you honestly believe he's not going to do it again - if you still TRUST him - then I'd be more hesitant to give you that advice.

Regardless, you don't deserve that and whatever you do, don't let him off the hook scott-free. Cheating is one of the worst things you can do to someone you claim to love. Whatever your decision, make it known that you're not someone who takes **** like this lying down.

I mean... he shouldn't have ANY excuse or "motive" for cheating. It's inexcusable no matter the reason.

Trash for cheating. Even more trash for cheating because of looks.

Don't go back. That'd be your biggest mistake and the worst thing to do in this situation. It'll be hard, but force yourself to move on. Good luck.

Join the club. Trust is SO easy to break, all it takes is one mistake. But it could take years to build it up.

I'm not saying leave the guy, but just be in CONTROL of your situation when you are with him. I still see my ex who cheated on me but only at a distance. I know I will never fully love him and vice-versa, but everyone needs someone so it hard to let people go until you find someone else.

Just don't stress about it. You'll find someone better eventually.

Don't feel like that - don't let your self esteem be damaged. It's not your fault, and it's not a problem with you that made them do this. Never let yourself think that it's because you're somehow not good enough - it's quite the opposite.

Once a cheater, always a cheater. It's completely on you when he does it again, when you could have walked away. I'd run for the nearest exit, if I were you.
