Well I live in Venezuela, which is quite literally a socialist nightmare.
I'll tell you, minimum wage here is 4889 BsF, to put it in perspective grosseries for the month, just your basic needs to feed yourselves and sustain your family is 17.230 BsF, that's how much you have to spend every month to EAT here, compare that to what you earn, IF you have a job.
But most Venezuelans don't have to concern themselves about that, we're not lucky enough to HAVE food to purchase even if we did manage to get that ammount of money, you have to stand in line under the scorching equatorial SUN from 4 a.m to 8 a.m when the grosseries open and stand in lines of maybe 2000 people just to have the chance to purchase whatever article is available to get at the time, diapers or powdered milk are basically nonexistant, and if you want to purchase them you have to do the lines.
If you want toilet paper, oil, flour, sugar, whatever product is unavailble (which most products are right now) you have to stand in these.
And you can only purchase a fix ammount of items.
But let's talk about cost of living, you want a car? well there are none, but you can purchase a used one for 3.500.000 BsF, keep in mind minimum wage is 4.889 BsF. So, how many years do you have to work in order to get that car with your minimum wage, and afford everything else that comes to living. Even if you manage to get a bank loan you will be indebted for years in order to get a used car.
I'd do anything to live in Iceland tbh.
