We usually get 16 tracks from our faves, but it seems like there's a new trend lately, where artists put up to 20 songs on their albums. Do you like that trend?
People who have done it so far:
Tinashe
Cheryl Cole
Nicki Minaj
Madonna
Ne-Yo
Imagine Dragons
i don't mind it. i'm here for all this new material. what irks me is when like 6 or 7 of the songs are interludes, or when there's a bunch of a bonus tracks exclusive to different places and companies - 1 to europe, 2 others to japan, 2 more to target stores in america, 1 to itunes, 1 to amazon, etc.
Depends. If the music if good and flows nicely, I don't mind. For example with all the bonus tracks Kelly's Stronger has 18 songs and I was used to listen to the album in full.
if all your songs on an album are going to be three and a half minute pop bops then you may as well cut it down to the 10-12 range, because otherwise the album becomes a chore to listen to. if you're actually invested in making an album then make it as long or short as you want.
