Mark Ronson tributes Amy Winehouse, dedicates new album
Quote:
Mark Ronson remembers Amy Winehouse as ''extraordinarily smart and honest''
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live's Afternoon Edition on Monday, Ronson discussed the inspirations he took from singer-songwriter Amy Winehouse before her death in July 2011, as well as the sense of loss he's felt ever since.
"I think certain kinds of lessons – whether they were studio lessons or life lessons, I learnt [from her]...
she was extraordinarily smart and honest, and all these things. We were good friends," Ronson said.
He added that although he feels proud of the work he and Winehouse did together, including Winehouse's hit 2006 album 'Back to Black' as well as the cover of The Zutons' 'Valerie' in 2007, he would rather have his friend still with him. "It's both – I'd rather have her here and have sold five records of course, but I guess they're two separate things.
It's kind of amazing – I met this girl and in the course of 10 days, we made this record that we were really into.
In a note posted on Twitter, the music producer wrote:
"I'm always thinking of you, inspired by you and your music lives on in myself and everyone who ever felt it."
