Yaya is doing an amazing job…but I thought this was Whitney, not Whitney: a Love Story w/ Bobby Brown

Yeah, for a Whitney biopic there is too strong a focus on Bobby Brown.

Why is Bobby looking like some huge hero and underdog in a movie about Whitney? She comes off as the crazy one for his mistakes

And Bobby's ears are annoying the crap out of me. So weirdly shaped

It should have just been called "Whitney & Bobby"

because i think ppl assume he got her onto drugs and ruined her but its the opposite. they both played their part though.

Yaya did well. Deborah Cox sang well. Huge stories and legacies like this really can't condensed into 2 hours, regardless of how cheap producers want to be.

Bobby was a loser, looking like a saint here. what in the hell kinda movie is this? they dragging the good sis Whitney? well she was fingered good.

Angela Basset said they were only focusing on five years of her career. The first few years would've been boring, and the last few years would've just been damaging. And that makes perfect sense. IF they to fit her whole career, love life, drama in two hours we would've ended up with another Aaliyah biopic They chose to focus on WHAT Whitney saw in Bobby in the first place. Which is something MILLIONS of people were still wondering. And it is very true that Whitney was doing coke before Bobby, people just assume Bobby had Whitney hooked on it because of his bad boy image. But Bobby started AFTER Whitney and he got sober sooner too.

The movie was well-made considering that its Lifetime and all, but this "Bobby Brown as victim/savior" narrattive? They could've kept all of it. Even as a "Bobby & Whitney: The Beginning" movie, it was way too focused on Bobby and his problems. All we got of Whitney was some snorting lines of coke, a meltdown or two, and some insinuations of her relationship with Robin Crawford. What a mess.

Can I see it somewhere?

Bobby was smoking coke laced joints when he was with new edition, before he dated Whitney. Boy been crazy and he beat Whitney. Bobby is hella ugly, inside and out. they were bad for eachother but she loved her some bobby.

Why are people saying this? He did not come off like a good guy in the movie they showed him being a scum that cheated on her and contributed to the mess.
