You use photoshop. Make sure the video source is HD.

Most image uploader sites, such as Minus & Imgur don't really support high filesize/HD gifs, though.

How about combining hd images as gif?

Why would you combine images? That's much harder and longer to do...but no one realistically makes gifs that way anymore

Download the best quality video, cut out the part of the video you want to gif in Sony Vegas (more than 15 second slows down the process in PS later and PS can only do 500 frames). Render it in 1080p or 720p even if it isn't. Import the video to PS by selecting "Import in Frames" or something like that. The rest is photoshop work.

Just find HD covers (you could in theory Photoshop the covers to look better but the quality will range because the same sets of workings won't woek on each individual cover) and put them together on photoshop
