An extra day for everyone or just Penk? This is my first time online in days and I have to head to work soon. I'd love an extra day - but if not, it will come in tonight. You know Id never not submit!

Sorry for the delay. My parents just bought an oven and I was helping my dad install it.
He kept drawing out the process way too much. It took way longer than I thought and I couldn't get away
I just sent.

Choose The Album, Then a Song 7: VOTE! [R6]
Welcome to the seventh season of ATRL original game
Choose The Album, Then a Song
Welcome to the sixth round!
Seems like the game is finally moving on! No time to lose! We are reaching the top 10 and I am sure no one would want to be out of it, right?
Well all the entries are in, it's time to vote and decide who did better!
T H E R U L E S
For six seasons this game had its ups and downs and to make sure the 'downs' part won't happen again, I had to create a set of rules. So if you're signing up, this means you agree to:
1. DURING THE VOTING PERIOD, YOU'LL HAVE TO CAST YOUR VOTE (OTHERWISE YOU'RE PENALIZED);
2. YOU CAN NOT ASK FANS/FRIENDS TO SAVE YOUR ALBUM;
3. THE JUDGES HAVE TO BE FAIR. IF YOU DETECT BIASNESS OR UNFAIRNESS, LET ME KNOW.

Sit down, let me tell you a story. I have a friend named Emma. Now, Emma used to date this boy and we were all against it because he obviously wasn’t good for her. He would go out with other girls, get wasted in frat parties, and just all that kinda stuff. We constantly told her to let him go and everytime she said she would but then she never actually would…guy was a really good sweet talker.
Anyway, when Salute dropped and me and my friends (the Mixers of us) gathered together to hear it for the first time like we do with all new albums, this song came on and immediately it began and progressed, we all thought of the same person…EMMA! We called her to our room and we told her, I remember clearly, “If you won’t listen to us…listen to the girls”. We played it for her and we all just laughed about it. Next day, she had downloaded the song and about a month later, she broke off the relationship for good. Till this day, she is a devout Mixer just because this song made her change her life

2. Penk - Kimbra - The Golden Echo: 90s Music

The lead single off The Golden Echo, and probably the most polarizing song she's ever put out, 90s Music is a song that has Kimbra invoking nostalgia for a certain time (the 90's, obviously!), but with her still knowing that she can't go back to that time. The oddball song was something that took some time for me to enjoy, with it's whack vocals and futuristic vibe, but once you get past the sonic insanity, there is a lot here to appreciate. Lyrically it talks about an old lover and the music they listened to on the radio together, with her name dropping some of these singers ("MJ & Mariah, Nirvana & Aaliyah"). Kimbra misses both him and the music, but she realized that even though she thinks fondly of these memories, it's time for her to change and move on, grow up, and settle down ("Out to find me a house with the white picket fence, Wedded, tied to a new life present tense"). Like Kimbra says "After all these years it just felt different", and although it will never be the same, and she has changed, there's nothing wrong with reminiscing on the good old days.

3. Dollas n Diamonds - Taylor Swift - 1989: Clean

I had tried desperately to regain what we once had.I poured myself into and tried to nourish our friendship yet no matter what I did it was still neglected and dry. I simply wasn't important enough, I had been replaced, still In between waves of spite I tried to salvage what was left. Finally when things started looking brighter a series of events left me selfishly betrayed and abandoned. I decided to something drastic, stop fighting the current and cut my ties; "if this ship is gonna keep taking in water I might as well sink it". I stopped talking to them, stopped thinking about them and tried to let my memories erode. Listening to Clean ten months later was like art imitating life, I had realized just how toxic my reliance was and how destructive and crippling it was to let how they felt about and treated me or how I precieved them to, dictate how I felt about myself.
In amist those moments soaking in numbing devastation when the loneliness suffocated me is when I learned true independance, the strength of my character and ultimately, freedom. Even though the method was probably unessacarily painful and ironically destructive, it allowed me to grow exponentially and for that I am grateful.

You just can't live your whole life trying to please everyone around you. You don't have to conceal what you feel, what you want to say or what you want to do just to avoid being judged. If you do, then you're no longer yourself. You can't be someone everyone else wants you to be.

5. holyground - Lorde - Pure Heroine: Bravado

Lorde describes this song as a pep talk for herself. Being a rising music sensation, it takes heaps of confidence and charisma to be in the limelight. But she finds herself to be very reserved, and that obstructs her from her dream of being an artist. As such, in this song, she focuses on the fact that she lives for the applause and being able to perform, as such this motivates her to bring out her bravado and overcome her insecurities.
I'm a rather introverted person. I like to spend time by myself, I can't function in a big group of people, I am really awkward in front of others, I'm shy etc. Sadly, the world rewards extroverts more. Most professions require leadership and confidence. If I wanna get in a relationship, I must be able to communicate.
Despite my disposition making these things sound out of reach, it shouldn't mean that I can't achieve them. Just because I'm not one who is confident, doesn't mean I cannot muster the bravery inside of me. That's how this song makes me wanna change. Some things in life seem difficult to attain, it might be an arduous journey, it might put me out of my comfort zone. But if that's something I really want, I have to focus on it and get over my obstacles.

I personally feel that What About is the perfect song to represent change and yearning for a fresh start. The listener is greeted by rolling waves and chirping sea birds when the track begins. These sounds invoke the image of a serene beach, a perfect representation for change since water is a universal symbol of change itself.
As the rock influenced track progresses, Janet gathers the courage to confront an abusive lover. Even though I've never found myself in an abusive relationship, I think this song has still inspired change within me. The song has taught me that I need to cut off the toxic and poisonous people in my life. If I come to the realization that it's best to cut a person out of my life, this song has taught me (and many other people) that it's best to gather your strength to do it. If I know that a certain person is unable to support and accept me for who I am, the song's message of found strength to better your life will inspire me to initiate change.

"I can only be the change I want to see."
This song is a special song to me because it has allowed me to reflect upon myself. I discovered that I have been very immature in handling my relationships. This song has made me open up and understand that a healthy relationship needs to be maintained by both parties. Previously, I was a very self-centered person who always takes my family and friends' love and concern for granted. Upon realizing that such an act was a very selfish one, I decided I had to face reality and make a change in myself. I need to take responsibility in my relationships and not harm my loved ones anymore.

It was my own curiosity that led me to Scott being my first boyfriend. I could have said no, but I thought he was cute and I had nothing to lose because no one ever asked me out before. He gave me a month to decide if I wanted to get serious with him or if I wanted to just be friends. I didn't want to let go of him after one month, so I decided to keep going. Now I wish I had never done that, because once we encountered an obstacle in our relationship, he became a totally different person to me and dragged our problems out for 3 weeks before breaking up. This past week I've been questioning what I ever saw in him, and when I came across this song, I realized it was my curiosity that let me go on with the relationship. Carly's attitude in this song is similar to how mine was when dating Scott. I want this song to be a reminder to myself that I don't need to rush into a relationship. This year, I want to take a little more time to get to know someone before I say yes. Scott was my first relationship, but he won't be my last.

I did a lot of thinking about this round honestly.I think that we all know that inspiration comes from the strangest of places. In my opinion, it usually comes to us when we are struggling (with jobs, with homework, with entries...) with some obstacle or conflict in life; afterall, if everything always went our way and we were completely happy and carefree, there would be no need for inspiration.
Most of Yellow & Green is about mortality and strife, clubbing you over the head with bludgeoning music. I had no idea how to stretch that to be inspiring to me. So I thought about a favorite song on the album, Twinkler. I always loved its delicate melody and how redemptive and resolute it sounds in contrast to the rest of the album and how at peace it is while staying true to their sound. It's so different that I always thought it could be the work of a completely different band. Then I realized, it's always been the song on the album that makes me change the pace of whatever I am doing. It makes me think about the bigger picture of life in a: "if these guys can completely change-up their approach and find beauty in the darkness of their style, why can't I?" type feeling. So, I decided to make it my entry about how it makes me realize that there is always more than one approach I can take to something while remaining true to myself.

10. Capital B - Alanis Morissette - Jagged Little Pill: Not The Doctor

"Not The Doctor" is quintessential Alanis - crafty worded, rawly vocalized, poetic and metaphorical expressions of emotion set to a chugging acoustic guitar. The song lists off things Alanis no longer wants to deal with in life, or more specifically, a bad relationship ("I don't want to be the sweeper of the egg shells that you walk upon"). She stands up, powerfully, and puts her foot down after what sounds like a period of being mistreated. For me, the feeling of "change" is evident in this song. She's shaking herself out of a bad situation, clearly expressing what she no longer wants, and moving on - therefore changing for the better. The challenge itself this week asked how I personally relate to this song with regards to changing. While I'm not in a bad relationship, I do relate to how Alanis is using her voice to demand change. As I get older, I move away from the way I used to think: I can be timid and often don't like confrontation - as a result I sometimes avoid speaking up for myself simply because I didn't want to rock the boat. With age, I'm now in a place where I'm starting to understand that I can, in fact, speak my mind, share my thoughts, and demand respect, whether personally or professionally. For me, this song is inspiration in finding my backbone, and making a change towards being someone, like Alanis, who isn't afraid to make a point and have their voice fearlessly heard.

Guys, last round I gave Dollas the opportunity of sending the entry after the deadline but this time, there is no excuse. I think it is completely unfair to others that always send their entries on time, so we're moving on.
