Hundreds is a reach. Many Muslim countries have made great progress in the past 20-30 years. It's not going to take that much of a long time considering the kind of world we live in with globalization and technology.

I'm all for challenging religious ideas but you have to understand that Muslims in France already are an oppressed group, especially Muslim women. The cartoons are satire. They are not racist or saying anything about derogatory about muslims, only depicting Mohammed in circumstances which may not align with typical islamic views. Well, too ****ing bad, they dont need to buy the magazine then.

Its really THAT simple.

This doesnt seem like a respect to religion or freedom of religion at all, when it prohibits certain groups of people from living according to their religious principles. I dont know how can a person wearing turban, hijab or cross offend others, or why should the religious symbols be banned from public areas at all. The only reasonable purpose of such law I can think of is to prevent hate crimes. Wouldnt be allowing people to wear their religious symbols publicly if they want to much more effective in making others used to it and thus in making the society more open minded?

This is such a crock. The West should not bend to religious extremist nutjobs ready to kill as many people as they can because their beliefs conflict with freedom of speech and press. That is terrorism in its most basic form. It's insensitive and dangerous to think we should just forgo having the right to say anything we want because people might be offended. Why should Islam get a free pass and not other religions or other groups of people who get offended by other things? Are we all afraid of being blown up by jihadists or something? Sorry not sorry, that cover is fantastic - it's both a tribute to their fallen colleagues and tries to separate morons who agree with the killings over depicting a religious figure from what that religion teaches about harming others.

Do I agreed with those extremists?? Killing people is one of the biggest sin in Islam and it's forbidden. I'm not supporting those killers and their actions. Why can't we live in peaceful, respect each others, their races, religions.
