I mean it's her music she can do whatever she wants with it. But she doesn't see things from the point of view of a regular music consumer. But all the power to her, her albums sell well anyway

I don't know why Taylor seems to thinks everyone who wanted to listen to the album on Spotify first will automatically buy it instead of downloading it illegally when they see it's not available there. And the fact she removed all of her albums... Spotify and streaming is the future and will continue to grow.

She's actually just scared that she won't make as much money if people stop wasting their money buying her albums and start streaming them instead.

Actually, she just wants people to pay for her music. She wouldnt have taken her music out of Spotify if it was exclusive to premium users. It is not about the money at all, she just wants her music to be exclusive to the people who pays because she wants her art to hold some value!

I know she wouldn't have gotten a lot by Spotify plays but we live in 2015, downloading an album for free is super easy now. Casual listeners and people who don't have the money will choose to do this instead of paying. Taylor has this immense selling power but sales will continue to decline.

I'm not sure if you're misunderstanding how Spotify works or over thinking the iTunes/Amazon terms and conditions?

You don't rent the music from Spotify, you pay to skip adverts and a couple other perks ("Downloading" is one of those perks, but you don't pay per download for a short rental period). With iTunes/Amazon the rent lasts a lifetime, you're just not technically allowed to pass it on to anyone once you die but no one is really gonna care if you do.

Spotify's premium music quality is embarassing, I feel geniunely bad for anyone paying money for it
