It's meant to sound 80s. Don't yall hear the rythmic-acapella intro? the synths in her voice and computerized instrumentals?
I don't hear this as a 2000s song, but as a modern song going after the 80s sound that she dabbled in on the
Stronger album ("Alone", "You Love Me").
And it's 100% Kelly, you can tell by how cheesy it sounds. Because of that I'm inclined to say that this is what she wanted to do and she isn't "selling out", as some of yall are implying.

I Like Tinashe, but don't. Dozens of artist were doing the revival movement before Tinashe had a career, including Kelly (half of the songs on Stronger). And lbr, Kelly doesn't even know who Tinashe is.
