Weekends mark the end of the work week the work week and weekend make up a full week, and a full week restarts on Sunday and ends on the forthcoming Saturday.
I always thought it was an american thing to have Sunday as first day, well ...just because they are special.
But then I had an argument with someone in UK and it got me wondering.
